Happy Tuesday TKW Family! Today I’m sharing with you a some new kitchen hacks on Tuesday’s Tip with The Kitchen Whisperer.
When it comes to cooking and baking, we all look for ways to cut down on time, save money and ways to make things easier in the kitchen.
Revive Stale Muffins – When a muffin goes a little stale simply sprinkle it with a teensy bit of water, put it in a paper bag and pop in a hot oven or toaster oven for 10-20 seconds.
Don’t Waste Lemons – When your recipe calls for just a tablespoon or two of lemon juice, don’t waste a whole lemon. Instead puncture it with a metal skewer, squeeze out what you want and cover it with plastic wrap.
Revive your limp veggies – Nothing is worse than grabbing a carrot and finding it has lost it’s crunch factor. Same thing with celery and potatoes. To re-perk them up, simply put them in a bowl of ice water and watch them come back to life. This can take minutes to up to 2-3 hours depending on how big the veggies are.
Make extra/freeze for later – When I make pancakes or waffles I always make extras that, once cooled I flash freeze then wrap individually storing in a freezer safe plastic bag. So on those mornings (or nights when I want breakfast for dinner) that I don’t have time to cook, I’ll grab a few out of the freezer, pop them in the toaster and in minutes I have perfectly fresh delicious pancakes and waffles!
Leftover coffee or tea – save it and pour it into ice cube trays. Then when you go to make iced tea or iced coffee instead of putting regular iced cubes in the drink that tend to water it down, add the frozen tea and coffee cubes!
Dip it in chocolate and sprinkles!– To dress up any cheesecake (homemade or store bought) freeze it til it’s firm the slice it into cubes. Dip the cubes into chocolate and douse it with sprinkles! Dress up any dessert in a pinch!
