With these MVP Bars you’ll be the STAR of big game! A peanut butter pretzel crusted chocolate chip cookie topped with the most incredible chewy peanut butter marshmallow popcorn topping!
Oh how I love football season! The tailgating, the cheering on your favorite team, the yelling at the refs over calls you think are stupid (admit it – you do it too!), the game superstitions and the food. OMG the food! Let’s face it, if you’re not playing in the actual game, the food is the second most important thing. You need proper eats if you want to be “the house” that every one wants to be at for the big game. You could literally put out milk crates or couch cushions for folks to sit on but as long as you have a killer tv and even better food you’re place IS the hot spot (well that is unless you’re actually at the game).
When the folks from Orville Redenbacher® wanted a new recipe featuring their AMAZING (seriously it’s ridiculously good!) Movie Theater Butter Popcorn for the Big Game I was stoked! You see I have a slight obsession with this popcorn and movie theater popcorn. Ever since I was little, going to the movies and getting my very own tub of popcorn was a huge treat. All that butter and warm popcorn with a great movie – seriously perfect! Popcorn to me meant happy times. It was something we’d share as a family bumping hands in the buckets of popcorn trying to get the ‘best pieces”.
If you want a super moist, seriously delicious dessert you can make healthy orrrrr not so healthy then these Cranberry Zucchini Blondie Bars are for you! Just a few simple tweaks and you can go from angelic to sinful.
Okay so I have to tell you about this recipe or more so the response I got on Facebook when I asked if I should post this recipe now. You see I posed the question on Facebook if I should post this recipe now or not. You see with it being the first week in January everyone and their mother is trying to live up to their New Years resolutions of being on a diet, eating healthier and going to the gym. Now I’m all for that but not because of a resolution because let’s face it only about 8% of those that make these resolutions actually stick with it. Instead make it a lifestyle change. Anyway this recipe is one that you can make 2 ways – healthy and one that won’t weigh on your conscious or make you feel guilty (which is something I have issues with. Everything in moderation people and exercise but I digress). The other way is full on sinful – we’re talking butter, chocolate and hello… BUTTERCREAM!!!
Anyway so I posed this question – should I post it now or should I post like a salad or lettuce wrap but everyone gave a resounding “Post it Lor!”. However one person, dear Ms. Maggie…. oh dear Maggie, well she literally made me belly laugh out loud. Her initial response was “o m g….post it or i will hurt you..jk” When I read that I lost it because even though we’ve never met she’s been a part of the TKW Family for a while now and her posts always make me smile and giggle. Through our chats and posts you get to know folks which one of the things I LOVE about social media and here. You become friends, family and build bonds.
What’s awesome and what I feel makes me so truly blessed is that I not only have that bond with Maggie but everyone in the TKW Family. If you haven’t stopped by the Facebook page, definitely stop by and say hi! Everyone is so warm and welcoming! Now before Ms. Maggie puts a hit out on me, let’s get to this dessert *wink*.
Rich triple chocolate chunk cookie crust layered with Snickers bits, a rich & fudgy brownie and even more Snickers! But wait,. there’s more! The whole thing is finished with a drizzle of chocolate ganache & caramel and a sprinkling of flake sea salt. These are truly OMG! Bars
Oh people this recipe… Now I’ve been making these bars for decades and through out the years the name has changed. At first they were known as the “Chocolate Chip Cookie Snickers Brownie Bars with Caramel and Ganache”. Yeah, just totally rolls off the tongue, huh? That’s how it was listed on my selection list however customers would call me with a “Hey Lor, can you make me a dozen of those Fudgy Chocolate Chip bar things?” to “I need those Sinfully Sexy bars” to some names that are so not appropriate for this blog. We’re talking those names would make Fifty Shades of Grey blush. Then finally, about 6 years ago I took a batch of these into work and one co-worker took a bite and said “OMG! These Bars!!!” The name just hit me.. “OMG! Bars” – it made sense. You get so many flavors and textures in every single bite that literally your taste buds are going to go berserk over this.
So last week we had our company Christmas party and of course yours truly forgot until the night before that she had to make something to take in. Office Christmas parties are pretty awesome – people bring in foods, things are decorated and for once you get to take a break from the stress and just truly enjoy your co-workers. I’m fortunate that the company I’m at now, everyone gets along. There’s no drama or for me, no cows – remember that lady I worked with years ago that was the BIGGEST witch ever? She hated me because well, I called her out numerous times for not doing her job. She was vile and mean. OMG I would not have it put it past her to be that person that would push a kid down in front of her to get to the front of the line.
Yeah, we don’t have any of those at my current place, thankfully.
Anyways back to these parties… For me I love to see the food tables and what folks bring in. Crockpots are abundant, trays of treats and sweets galore and tin trays of hot foods – chicken, pulled pork, mac ‘n cheese and so forth. Since some in my office know “who I am” (rolls her eyes as I hate saying that – I’m just me), they tend to look to me to help lead the set up and bring in deliciousness. After our last party, I was instructed that whatever I make for our Christmas party, I need to make double. Mine were gone in minutes and many missed out on what I brought in.

This holiday dessert features tart cranberries combined with orange zest blended into a creamy, mouth-watering cheesecake all nestled between a cinnamon spiced Grape-Nuts oat crust. Your holidays just got Seriously Delicious!
So wow, Christmas is less than a week away, scary (but exciting), huh? Have I got one Seriously Delicious dessert for you today. Now you all know me, I’m a cereal girl. It’s versatile, great plain, in milk or as a ‘secret’ ingredient to desserts. I’m not typically a ‘sweet’ cereal kind of girl though as often I like to eat it plain as a snack versus as say breakfast. So when the amazing folks from Post® Cereal Brands were looking for a creative and delicious holiday recipe featuring Grape-Nuts I knew exactly what I wanted to make. See I love Grape-Nuts. It’s often my ‘secret’ ingredient in bar cookies or even streusel topping. It adds such a great flavor and texture without being overly sweet. See that’s one of the things I like about Post® Cereal Brands – they offer something for the whole family. From HoneyComb to Honey Bunches of Oats (fyi.. the Strawberry is my personal fav!) they’ve got you covered.
I’m not sure when the whole orange cranberry flavor combination came about but man I’m so happy that it did. There’s just something about the tartness of the cranberries paired with the bright citrus flavor that works so well. Where I live, cranberries are a seasonal thing that’s starts showing up around October and lasts through the end of January. I make sure to stock up at my local Walmart on these. They freeze beautifully and are great in so many dishes.
Celebrate the holidays with these Candy Cane Crunch Chocolate Dipped Shortbread cookies, Layers of buttery chocolate & vanilla shortbread speckled with candy cane bits and dipped in dark chocolate make this up this Christmas classic cookie.
Wow only 8 days left til Christmas – are you ready? Me neither. However what I am ready for is the holiday treats and eats! There’s just something so decadent and glamorous about the holidays. It could be that we break out best serving dishes, tinsel and garland is everywhere, things are lit with the most spectacular of lighting displays and we all seem to put our best foot forward when it comes to foods. We bake more during the holidays than anytime throughout the year.
We bake for the holidays, company, gifts for family and friends, office parties, cookie exchanges and obviously for Santa. Gotta kept the jolly man happy and fed. No one wants coal in their stocking. Like you I make the extravagant cookies and ones that you swear take longer to decorate than they do to bake. But there’s something to be said about a classic, simple shortbread cookie. They are buttery, melt in your mouth and honestly the perfect ‘tea cookie’. When my friends at Nordic Ware® sent me out their Sweet Snowflakes Shortbread Pan to create something magical and appropriate for the holidays I knew I wanted to incorporate something ‘seasonal’ in the shortbread cookie while keeping it simple.
As you know I’ve been fortunate now to be a part of the Nordic Ware® family for about 2 years now – reviewing their PHENOMENAL bake and cookware plus creating mouth-watering recipes. Today I’m featuring their Sweet Snowflakes Shortbread Pan. It’s absolutely stunning made with the same stellar quality we’ve all come to love and expect from Nordic ware.
The pan made from Cast aluminum. It’s holds 6 cups and measures 9.72″ dia. X 1.63″ and can handle temps up to 400F. The inside is non-stick but as I’ve shared before, coat your pan with melted butter brushing every crevice with a pastry brush. You can then add flour or not. Depending on the type of cake I’m making I typically stick with just butter for these pans. See my post that’s all about how to properly coat your bundt cake for baking!
