Happy Sunday TKW Family! I’m cheating a bit today and writing this a few days in advance and scheduling it to post today. See I’m having shoulder surgery on Friday (well okay if it’s Sunday today then it would be ‘had’ surgery this past Friday). Remember that car accident Mr. Fantabulous and I had back in December where a 6 point buck decided to take on me and my car in a cage match? Well I got hurt pretty bad and have been nursing this shoulder ever since. Finally I found a 3rd surgeon that was able to find all the issues and perform the surgery. As soon as I am feel better I’ll be back online and on our Facebook site to chat with you all.
This will be weird as I haven’t had my arm in a sling for very an extended period of time in decades (remember, I’m old). Like I think I was maybe 7 when I broke my arm wrestling with one of my brothers. I had a sling after the accident but that sucker was taken off after 2 days as it drove me nuts. God help me with this one.
So yeah, I’m pretty nervous about this one only because of all the surgeon said he had to do to repair it all AND the fact that with everything he’s doing (did I mention he’s removing part of my clavicle???) that the thing is out-patient?! That’s freaking me out. And I’m getting a nerve block, again something I’ve never had. Now I have a super high pain tolerance but this, this one is bothering me pretty bad. But I have faith that while I may have to endure a few days of super intense pain, that in the end it’ll be all worth it and I’ll be back to my old self and back in no time to my pre-injury workout routine. Trust me, I NEED that! I put on 10 pounds since December and this is a huge issue for me.
So I hope you’ll forgive me for breaking the rules here and scheduling a post but I didn’t want to not have a weekly menu up for you guys because I was nursing my shoulder AND the fact that I’ll be on happy pills. I don’t handle pain medication very well and God only knows what I’d type. LOL
