Because some days you just really need to step up your potato chip game!

Bacon Toffee Chocolate Dipped Pringles16

If I were a betting person I’d bet that when this recipe popped up on your social media feed or your email and you saw the title “Chocolate Dipped Pringles coated with Crispy Bacon, Toffee, and Sprinkles” you pretty much got the biggest smile EVER.

You see today’s recipe is one about pure indulgence; and guilty pleasures.  And hey, you know my motto – ‘everything in moderation!’ So when the great folks at Pringles wanted something that would surely compliment the college basketball bracket games going on I went for a half-court-nothing-but-net shot.

A quick stop at my local Target after work was all I needed to pick up some Pringles Original and Pringles Cheddar Cheese chips. And FYI Pringles Super Stacks are 3 for $4 the 3rd week of February – the 1st week of April at Target!  BONUS!!! So needless to say I bought a few canisters because let’s face it, it’s not that hard to polish off an entire canister by yourself. They are just that good!

Once I was home I quickly popped the top and plated some to “test” out. LOL

As I was ‘beta test eating’ these I got to thinking about how could I make chocolate-covered potato chips to a new level. The original flavor was a no-brainer – milk chocolate, toffee, and or sprinkles. The saltiness of the chip combined with the richness of milk chocolate and the sweetness of the toffee or sprinkles was truly perfect.

But the cheddar cheese ones, yeah threw me.  Now cheese and chocolate go quite well together but it’s definitely not milk chocolate. Now for me, my go-to chocolate is dark.  I love that bitterness of it.  But why stop there?  Oh no no no, not this girl. I needed to go full on savage here.  Oh yeah, we’re talking BACON!

A quick dip in the chocolate bath went the chips and then a rest on waxed paper.  Now you’ll notice I didn’t submerge my chips in the chocolate.  Pringles are delicate so you need to be gentle when dipping them.  Your chocolate should be well melted and creamy.  If it’s too thick then thin it out with a little bit vegetable oil or unflavored shortening.

Yeah.. take a second and gaze at these next couple of pictures.  Seriously my camera was in foodporn photography heaven during this photo shoot!

Honestly I can’t decide which flavor I like better.  They are all so uniquely different and yet so incredibly delicious in every single way!

I can so totally see this being something you’d do for a sleepover with the kids, girls’ night in, poker night with the guys, or family game night.  Or if you’re like me – because it’s Wednesday. *grin*  I literally cannot stop beaming about these pictures or how unbelievably INCREDIBLE these taste!

We’ve all had chocolate-covered potato chips but I’m telling you what people, you NEED to try THIS recipe with the bacon, the toffee, and the sprinkles on Pringles!  It’s LIFE CHANGING!!!

Bacon Toffee Chocolate Dipped Pringles7

It’s funny when I pulled off the plastic lid and removed the foil covering I chuckled at their saying “You don’t just eat ’em”.  They are so right.  Normally when I eat Pringles I’m a “chip stacker” meaning I can’t just eat one chip at a time.  No, I need to stack 2 or even 3 if I’m feeling starved and THEN bite down.  I don’t make the duck lips or whatnot.  No, I don’t have time to play with my food.  The stack method means I get serious crunch and well, more Pringles in my mouth faster.  It’s all about being efficient.  LOL

The only thing that may be tough to find in a local grocery store is the toffee chips – check where the chocolate chips are.  I either buy mine online or I get them in a specialty cake decorating store.  If you can’t find plain toffee chips, you can easily buy toffee bars and just cut them up. As for the sprinkles or nonpareils, since they technically are the little balls, you can get them anywhere.  And if you want you can totally use real sprinkles or jimmies.

And yes sprinkles and jimmies are two different things. Sprinkles are rainbow colored; jimmies are chocolate colored/flavored.  End of discussion.

It’s funny as when I brought home the Pringles Mr. Fantabulous said  “Oh awesome!  I love Pringles!” and proceeded to grab a canister.  Immediately I grabbed it out of his hand and said “No, you can’t eat them. They are for a client recipe and photo shoot.” Folks if you would have seen the look of disappointment I felt terrible!  Do you remember how Puss ‘n Boots in the movie Shrek could give you the super sad kitty tear in the eye look?  Yeah, that’s pretty much what he looked like.

It was so heart-wrenching that I grabbed one of the other canisters and gave him that. He positively beamed then! As he left the room (he’ll kill me for telling you guys this) he was singing “My baby loves me! She gave me Pringles cause she loves me! ” LOL

Then a few hours later he came back into the kitchen and saw these and he literally stopped in his tracks…

“HEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY  What are THOSE???  WOW!  They look incredible!!! Please tell me I can have some”

I chuckled and said “Of course but the bacon ones are with dark chocolate” – he doesn’t like dark chocolate (he’s weird, I know).

And then it happened… we got into a competitive eating match pretty much over these as he was going to town on these and I’m sorry, I was not going to be left licking the crumbs off the plate again. Oh no, it was on.  LOL

So after you wipe the drool from your chin, head to Target and pick up a few canisters of Pringles to make these! You’ll be the best Mom/Dad/friend/Coworker EVER!

      Hi Faith!

Because Pringles are more delicate it’s best to make the the day of the party. The chips are best eaten soon after they are made, to preserve the fresh crunchiness of the chips.
