Get out of that same ol’ recipe rut and try one of these delicious and easy recipes this week! This week I highly recommend making the Ziti Peperonata with Hot Sausage and the Crock Pot Eye of Round with Mushroom & Onion Gravy!
Happy Sunday TKW Family from a very sick TKW household. Both of us are down for the count with this death plague that is going around. So far the doctor doesn’t think it’s the flu but severe upper respiratory infections but I don’t know, he’s had it for 10 days and I’m going on 5 so we’ll see. So it’s Superbowl Sunday. Who’s out there partying? What are your game day eats? Normally we have a super bowl party but we didn’t this year as one, we’re sick and two, I’m not home. I’m actually out of town this week for work.
I’m not too happy about this as I don’t feel well and you know what it’s like when you’re sick you want to be home in your bed surrounded by your stuff. But since I’m not Oprah-rich, I must work. I don’t mind really as I do love what I do. It’s just the worst timing. I hate leaving Mr. Fantabulous when he’s so sick.
But anyway back to the game tonight. I’ll probably only watch some of the ads and most definitely the halftime show. I mean HELLO – #TeamJT Love me some Justin Timberlake! The only thing I do miss are the foods served during the game. I did stop at a local Walmart up here and grab some food for the week since my room has a full kitchen. SWEET!
Last week happenings
I made 24 quarts of soup in 6 days. That’s how sick we were/are. I’m telling you what guys I seriously have no idea what I’d do without my pressure cooker. It’s such a true convenience! So many of you ask “is it faster in the pressure cooker than say a pot on the stove?” Honestly not really but the flavor is night and day. Well okay, if you’re making stock then yes it’s way faster but soups like chicken noodle, potato soup, tomato soup – still take about 10 minutes under pressure. Then you add in the time for it to build up to pressure (10 minutes or so) and you’re probably at about 20-30 minutes before it’s done. But trust me, make one batch in the Instant Pot and one on the stove and taste the difference. The IP blows every other stove top soup of the water!
What else? We started to move items downstairs into the Office Supply Closet and then also into the office. Mr. Fantabulous will finish moving the rest of the computers and stuff down there while I’m gone.
I also got the first draft of my new webpage home page. I’m really loving the concept and the look of it. I gave my comments/updates and should have another draft this week to review. I cannot wait to get it up and running! It’ll be a completely new experience and we’re also building in new functionality where it helps you build a meal so when you choose a main dish it’ll also show you 2 sides and a dessert to serve with it.
Another thing I’m going to introduce is a TKW Shop with not only the items from my Amazon Influencer Store but also specific TKW items – t shirts, aprons, wooden spoons, spatulas and other items.
Now I don’t know if it was the death plague he had but Mr. Fantabulous was on a roll last week. Here a few of our conversations. I would LOVE for you guys to be here when we have these discussions. He’s all mine; all mine. LOL
Mr. Fantabulousisms
Magic Pot
So if you recall last week I shared with you the story how he asked if the new dressers we bought would come with the same type of “Magic Drawers” his dresser currently has. You know the one where you take out clothes and magically they show up clean again in the same drawer. Yeah.. those magic drawers. As you know we’re both pretty sick but one of us (i.e., needs to feed us) thus I’ve been making soup (8 quarts every 3 days). Today after we got home from the doctor he makes the last of the soup and as he walks past me to go lie down says “I finished the soup honey.”
Which is husband code for “I know you’re on your death bed too but can you please make more?” So I did.. another 8 quarts of my Mama’s Magic Soup. He gets up from napping about 3 hours later, goes out to the kitchen and I hear the following…
“OMG HONEY!!! OMG HONEY!!! The Magic has spread!!! We have a MAGIC Pot!!! I emptied the soup before I went to lie down and it’s now magically filled!”
So apparently I’m also the owner of the only Magical Instant Pot in the world.
lol… he’s all mine folks; all mine
Leaves
As you know I made ANOTHER 8 quarts of my Mama’s Magic soup. I put a bowl out for him and head back into the office to try to answer emails. About 20 minutes later he comes in says…
Mr. Fantabulous: “I love soup. God wait, did I just say that? OMG I’ve become old. But man I love your soup! But this one is missing leaves. You didn’t put enough leaves in it.”
TKW: “I’m so happy honey that you loved it and yes we’re middle aged now. Soup is… wait, what??? Leaves? What in the hell are leaves???”
Mr. Fantabulous: “Yeah the last batch you made with the rice had way more leaves in it. I liked that a lot. I think it’s because it had more leaves in it. Can you put more leaves in this one?”
TKW: “WTF are you talking about? Leaves???“
<silence>
<silence>
<silence>
TKW: “Wait… do you mean spinach???”
Mr. Fantabulous: “Yeah, leaves. Geesh! And I thought you were a chef!”
TKW…<just silently says the lord’s prayer> lol That man I swear. It HAS to be due to the meds he’s on and how sick he is.
Leaves! LEAVES? That’s a new one even for me!
Last week on Instagram
So I tested out a new pot roast recipe – Mocha Instant Pot Roast Beef. Seriously, BEST ROAST BEEF EVER! I made it twice last week as it’s that good. I’ll be posting the recipe soon!
Then there was this video for my Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce (the recipe will be posted this week!).
This is my Mama’s Magic Soup that I made 16 quarts of last week. This is also the soup I made that apparently didn’t have enough “leaves” in it. LOL Someone said I should change the name to Mama’s Magic Leaf Soup. LOL
Definitely go to my profile to see all of the Cookbook videos!
And with that guys, I’m calling it a day. I’m taking a shower, calling Mr. Fantabulous and turning in early. Have one Fantabulously Amazing week!
