Chocolate Crepes with Chocolate Cream and Raspberries

So SOMEONE (not mentioning any names… darling sister Dianna) said the ‘C’ word to Mr. Fantabulous.  The ‘C’ word in my house is Crepe.  See Mr. Fantabulous LOVES crepes beyond words. Now it wouldn’t be such a big deal if he ate a normal amount however there is nothing normal about his consumption of these.  At a minimum I have to make 12 at a time.  He literally inhales these and most often does what he can to stand next to me at the stove, 2 crepe pans going at once eating them as soon as they come out.  And God forbid someone does mention the ‘C’ word (darling sister dear) and I don’t make him them that day.  You’d think I done shot the dog, deprived him of Christmas and wrecked his Camaro. Yes folks I married a man-child. LOL  No seriously it’s our playful little ways with each other.  It makes life fun and cute.

Chocolate Crepes3

So as I made him my Classic French Crepes I decided *I* wanted to play with the recipe a bit for me. I mean I get tired of the same ‘ol, same ‘ol. Plus I wanted chocolate… for breakfast. Hey!  Don’t judge me!  Women are allowed to have chocolate for breakfast! It’s like the law or in wedding vows.. or something like that.
FYI… chocolate is acceptable ANYTIME of the day!

Harvest Spice Pumpkin Crepes with Cinnamon Cream Filling

“It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!” is pretty much the theme this time of year. No longer do we have Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.  It’s Fall no more as it’s been changed to ‘Pumpkin Season’. Seriously EVERYTHING is pumpkin.. EVERYTHING!  Heck even Oreos just jumped on the Pumpkin bandwagon with their new Pumpkin Creme cookies.  Those you guys can all partake in.  Not my thing.  I love pumpkin but I’m not pumpkin obsessed.  Like I know folks that count down the days til Starbucks reintroduces their Pumpkin coffee thingy.  Yes thingy… I don’t drink coffee nor call it those fancy schmancy names.  It’s coffee and water.  Anything else you put in it you’re just making it make taste not like coffee so um… drink milk.  LOL

However I’d be a fool not to partake in the recipe craze.  Give the people what they want and right now pumpkin is what you crave; what you need.  If you search Pinterest there are a billion and 17 pumpkin recipes out there.  So why not add to the list, right?

Pumpkin Crepe5

Pumpkin Crepes just speak Fall to me. You all know I’m not a huge fan of crepes/breakfast foods like this however Mr. Fantabulous is. Crepes are known as the ‘C’ word in my house.  I have banned my sister from mentioning them around him because as soon as she does he’s like that 4 year old kid in the cereal aisle pleading that he needs it otherwise he’s gonna die and that he promises to pick up his room until the end of time. No seriously you don’t understand folks.

You’re going to FALL in love with these Harvest Spice Pumpkin Crepes!

Giving it up for the French… French Crepes that is

So we all know I’m not a fan of most breakfasty type foods. I’m not a waffle lover and really don’t like pancakes.  *GASP!  How is this possible???* dunno.. just never was  a fan.  I mean I like 2 bites at most but then it’s like “Um no, don’t want this” and end up pushing it away.  Gimme dippy eggs, a piece of toast and maybe some bacon.  Okay.. no maybe about it. I want me some bacon!

Well a few weeks ago Mr. Fantabulous found my never-been-used All-Clad crepe pan that I had-to-have. I mean it’s ALL-Clad after all so I needed it, right?! I mean I do love their stuff.  Now I had every intention of making him crepes someday but I just never got around to it.  I mean I used to make them all the time when I was younger at home but again, wasn’t a fan.  The recipe was/is awesome but I just wasn’t ‘feeling’ them.  So me being the loving wife agreed one Sunday morning to make him crepes.  Well okay truth be told I promised him Saturday night that I’d make him some for breakfast the next morning but then kinda-sorta-forgot-hoped-he’d-forget-too-but-that-didn’t-happen…crap!  LOL

I dug out my old family recipe and got to making them.  Well people lemme tell Read the rest of this entry »
