Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon Montreal Steak Seasoning
  • 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/41/2 cup farina or dry bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1214 slices of bacon, raw
  • 5 slices crispy cooked chopped bacon
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. In a large bowl mix steak seasoning, ground beef, egg, milk, farina, Worcestershire, maple syrup and cooked bacon with your hands. Just combine it but try not to overwork it as it will get tough. If the mixture is too wet, add a bit more farina. If too dry, add another egg and 1/4 cup milk. You want the mixture to be pretty moist but not super wet.
  3. For each muffin tin, use ~1 cup of meat mixture and shape into a ball.
  4. Wrap each ball with 2 pieces of bacon having the ends of the bacon on the bottom of the ball.
  5. Place each bacon wrapped ball into a muffin pan cavity.
  6. Repeat until all the meat is gone.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the internal temp is 165.
  8. If you want crispier bacon top, broil on high for 2-4 minutes.
  9. Remove from the muffin tins and drizzle with warm maple syrup.

Notes

This is amazing with whipped sweet potatoes or candied yams.
