Ingredients
- 12 ounces wheat beer (or favorite ale/German/light beer)
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup Hoosier Hill Beer Cheese Mix
- 1 cup freshly shredded cheddar
- 1 cup freshly shredded smoked Gouda
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard powder
- 5 strips bacon, minced
- 1 jalapeno, minced (seeds removed) (can use 2 jalapenos keeping one for garnish)
- 1 green onion, chopped for garnish
- 2 strips crispy bacon, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- In a sauce pot over medium heat, add the bacon and jalapeno. Sauté until the jalapenos start to soften and the bacon crisps up. Stir frequently (about 5-8 minutes.).
- Next, add the beer and heavy cream then bring to a boil. Add in the 1 cup of Hoosier Hill Beer Cheese Mix and whisk to combine. (You can also whisk as you add it in).
- Once it’s all combined and starts to thicken, remove from the heat and slowly whisk in the cheese in 1/2 cup measurements.
- Transfer the beer cheese to a serving container, garnish with the green onion, the 2 strips of crispy bacon, and the optional additional jalapeno.
- Serve immediately with chips, pretzels, chicken strips, nachos and so forth.
