  • 1 pound lean ground beef, ground turkey or chicken
  • 1/4 cup yellow onion, chopped small
  • 1/4 cup green bell pepper, chopped small
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoon prepared yellow mustard
  • 1 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • salt to taste
  • ground black pepper to taste


  1. In a medium skillet, brown the ground beef, onion, and green pepper over medium heat.
  2. Strain off liquids.
  3. Add in the garlic powder, mustard, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar and brown sugar; mix thoroughly.
  4. Reduce heat, and simmer for 30 minutes or until thick and bubbly
  5. Season with salt and pepper.


We love these served on a toasted bun with melted Velveeta or American cheese served with a big fat pickle and salty potato chips.
