For my mother in law..

Had to take a sec and show off this gorgeous berry pie my mother in law made yesterday. Mr. Fantabulous and I spent the entire day (and the wee hours of the night) with them.

You know, growing up between tv and radio you heard horror stories of mother in laws being horrifying. Society instills this persona of a mother in law equating a cross between Godzilla and the wicked witch from The Wizard of Oz.

Then as my friends got married I’d hear these nightmarish stories of how they would fight like cats and dogs with their inlaws. I mean we’re talking scary stuff.

But for me… I had a complete opposite from day one. My in laws welcomed me with open arms and more importantly an open heart. It was like ‘coming home’. It was comforting and homey.

I have been so truly blessed when it came to my in laws. Mom and I talk every day about everything. And what I love love LOVE is that she and I share a passion for cooking so we often swap recipes and “talk shop”.

So now even though Mother’s Day isn’t until next week, I had to give my other Mom recognition today 🙂

And incidentally, she ROCKED this pie! Mr. Fantabulous LOOOOOOOOOOOOVED it!
