I’ve been PUBLISHED!!! My First Published Recipe!

I just got my cookbook today from the people at QED Cooks where my very first recipe is published by yours truly!

I’m so giddy right now I can’t stand it!  Back in October, I was on WED Cooks “Cookie Table” show where my S’mores Cookies were featured.  I did a live baking demonstration of the recipe and shared my whole 13 minutes of fame with the world!  I then recently got an email from QED saying that this show was airing every 14 hours on PBS!

I am literally in 7th heaven right now!  I cannot wait to go back on the show, and others to do more cooking!  I loved every single minute of it!  I wasn’t nervous and it just felt right being there.

Cookie Tables are pretty much a Pittsburgh thing.  So what is a Cookie Table?  Well… you know how you go to weddings and you have your food and cake, well in Pittsburgh we also have Cookie Table(s) were more often than non, the cookie tables are bigger than the actual food tables. It’s filled with endless amounts of home-baked cookies by Aunts, cousins, mothers, nieces, neighbors, and pretty much all that are invited.  And any good cookie table would not be complete without take-out containers next to it.  It used to be in the old days when you went to a wedding you would fix 2 plates of cookies – 1 for the table to snack on while people were dancing and 1, wrapped in a napkin, to take home.  As I got older people would start taking their own containers or plastic bags to the reception. Yes, even at my wedding people did this which I loved!  As of late, most receptions have actual take-home containers for you to load up on.

But LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKKKKKK!!!

THAT’s ME!!!  In Print!  And I’m PUBLISHED!!!  Tee hee… yes, I am grinning from ear to ear!  Practically beaming!

This book is a must-own for all lovers of cookies and would make an excellent holiday gift! Search the WQED website to see if it’s still available for purchase.

I’m so giddy!!!

How can I get a gopy of the cookie table cook book? My grandma and I used it when. I was little. I would love to share those recipes with my kids

      Hi Diane!

Unfortunately, they aren’t reissuing it. I believe with their cookbooks they only run them for a limited time.

The post is 10 years old. I just looked on their website and they no longer offer the book.

I tried to use your link but it took me to a link that said page not found. Is there a way I can still purchase or pledge to acquire this book.

My Mom just saw this episode and would love a copy of the book. Do you have any idea how I could find one?

Wow, your giddiness reminds me of when I got my Chris Fennimore autographed cookbook, and now I’m a real published (fiction) author. You can do it, too, just take the plunge! You have a fantastic blog, amazing recipes, and an outstanding ability to teach. I can’t wait to point at a cookbook of yours and say, “I remember her when . . .”

    You go girl!!!!!

Oh, thanks! Well, it started with WQED and Toe-warming Pot Pie, lol. I write Jane Austen sequels. amazon.com/author/lindawells Whatever your ultimate dream is, look into self-publishing, don’t wait for someone to come to you. It’s really scary the first time, but you can do it!

        Happy Thanksgiving!

Awesome Linda! I’ll have to check that out! I never considered self-publishing. I’m not really sure how to go about that. I will have to do research and see how to do it.

          Again, thanks for the advice!

          Happy Thanksgiving!
