What a way to start a New Year. How can anyone fall in love with a website – well I did. By happenstance I found TKW while looking for a recipe and clicking on several links and voila here I am. So from New Year’s Eve and now New Year’s Day with a armful of some of the best ingenious recipes, I fell in love with this unbelievable fantastic site. I am a cookbook junkie and none of them compare in the slightest with just the recipes I have read so far!! Geesh how I wish I had a tail cause I feel like wagging it, that’s how excited I am. Hooked??? Well just for starters after reading how to “grill” delicious steaks indoors I sent the hubby to basement to take out steaks for tomorrow then went to the store on the holiday to buy fresh garlic to make your Roasted Garlic Bread Pretzel Sticks and also bought egg roll wrappers to make Breakfast Egg Rolls with Apple Chicken Sausage Gravy and now I have to get this Fuzzy Navel Protein Powder to make mouth watering dressing for panini, Roasted Smashed Loaded Potatoes are calling my name. OMG, somebody stop me…….
I’m so happy, so very happy, happy happy happy. What to make for dinner, ugh, now I can come here for ideas what to make and believe me after cooking for my DH for 35 years you tend to run out of ideas!!! I”m so happy, so very happy, happy happy happy…………………………………
Cindy,
I wish you could see the tears I have my eyes right now after reading your response. Well okay, maybe I kinda don’t wish you could see it as I’m sportin’ an oh-so-sexy-witchy-pooh hair style and I have flour all over my shirt, pants and yes.. butt. Hey, it’s how I roll *wink*.
It’s funny as when I first started this I was scared to do it. “What if they hated me or worse, my food?” “What if no one liked me or I fell through the cracks like so many food websites do?” But honestly, it was never about the ‘numbers’ but rather about this was for me – whether 1 person or 1 million people read it, it didn’t matter. What mattered was that *I* was doing something towards my dream; I was making it happen.
One thing I vowed to do was stay true to myself, my values, my upbringing and well – me ‘realness’. I wanted people to be able to relate to me, to know that even those that say they are amazing cooks can fail at recipes (trust me, I’ve set the smoke alarm off on occasion) but what the most important lesson was not to give up. That you don’t need fancy schmancy to make amazing dishes. You just need heart, love and respect of the ingredients.
So thank you for being a part of the TKW family and sharing in this journey with me.
