Weekly Menu

Oh Sunday how I love thee…for the most part. See for most Sunday is a day of rest and relaxation; a day to unwind and take a breath of fresh air.  However for me, Sundays are often my busiest days. But it’s busy stuff that I love.  By morning all of the laundry is done, dishes are cleaned and put away, house is picked up (well as best as it can be due to us under construction – yes it’s still going on) and I get to concentrate on the ‘fun’ stuff; the TKW stuff.  I get to work on photo shoots either editing already taken pictures of take pics of new recipes.  I get to take what I’ve written in my recipe scratch notepads and put them to actual TKW files, posts are written and I get to spend quality time with you all.

Yeah, that’s what my Sunday is supposed to look like but yeah, this weekend my schedule got throw all out of whack and upside down.  Last Friday I worked from home because one, no one was going to be in the office and I could get a lot done shut off in my office here. Plus every once in a while it’s a nice break to do so. And yeah, there’s that not having to wear real pants thing.  I kinda like that…a lot. Friday nights are our pizza night where we shut off the world, I make a pizza and snacks then we watch a movie.  We’ve been doing that for years.  However this Friday night didn’t happen like that.

Late morning Friday Mr. Fantabulous came into the office telling me our friend had extra tickets to the Ace Frehley concert that night and did we want to go.  While I’m a huge fan of KISS, I’ve never really thought of him as a soloist.  So into the fridge the pizza dough went and off we went to the concert.  It was awesome seeing our friend and his friends (super nice people).  The venue itself is great but as for a soloist, it wasn’t my schtick.  Eh, to each their own, right?  What was cool though is got to meet Ace and hang out afterwards plus we got a few guitar picks. See stuff like that, I love.  Ace was nice and welcoming, along with his manager and entourage.  I don’t think we got home until close to 1 that night.  Since we didn’t have our normal pizza we were starving however I knew it was way too late for me to eat.  Mr. Fantabulous wanted blueberry pancakes – yes at 1am.  I told him “nope, not gonna happen chief” but made him french toast instead.  Off to bed we went, one with a very full tummy, one with a tired body.

Saturday I was informed it was “Date Day”.  Now for those of you that are new here, Date Day is where I get kidnapped to go to Home Depot and or Lowes.  Now it’s not a bad thing but this man has to walk up and down practically every single aisle.  Oh how I love the day where we’ll start at Home Depot, not get a single thing, go to Lowes, not get a single thing and then go back to Home Depot to get 1 thing.  Oh yes, oh how I love that .  The thing is, this is at least a half day affair for us as we live in countrybumpkinville and these places are not close.  So literally half my day was shot gallivanting around only to come home empty-handed and starving.

Since my Saturday night girls’ night out plans got canceled I decided to work on some new recipes.  I’m SUPER stoked about trying the one I came up with last night – Oaty German Chocolate Bars. It needed to rest for several hours before I could cut it which mean into the fridge it went and off to la-la land I went.

So yeah, today is a combination of my Friday and Saturday “chores” on top of my usual Sunday stuff.

      Hi Nettie!

That’s awesome. It was cool hanging out backstage and meeting his ‘entourage’. It was a great date night as I got to chill and just relax while watching the band play.

      Best Kitchen Wishes!
