Weekly Menu

Happy Sunday TKW Family! It’s another edition of the Weekly Menu. Do you find these posts helpful in planning out your meals for the week? Do you cook alongside me each night or do you maybe pick 2 or 3 of the recipes to try out?

How was your last week?  Mine was rough.  As you recall last weekend I spent it pretty much in bed.  By 3am Sunday night that death plague hit me the hardest and there was just no way on Earth I was going to be able to drive in to work.  So I emailed my boss and asked to work from home because this death plague was winning big time. I then called my doctor’s office and I must have sounded beyond pitiful as they told me to come in right away. What seemingly was the longest wait time ever (really it was literally a 10 minute wait but when you’re that sick you don’t want to exert any effort), the doc saw me, gave me a breathing treatment and said I had a nasty viral infection and bronchitis. So a 6-day Steroid pack was issued (great… mood swings, restless nights and ridiculous weight gain but hey, you’ll feel better!) and then she hit me with a ‘unfortunately this strain you have is going to take about 3 weeks to get out of your system.’  Say what??  Apparently it’s some epidemic going around Pittsburgh that pretty much every had or has.  Oh how lovely.. So I got my meds, went home and worked in my jammies. It was torture and my boss was telling me to quit working and go rest but you all know me, I don’t rest and I’m stubborn.

Since I was still feeling really crappy that night I told my boss that I would WFH on Tuesday just to play it safe.  Even though I got this death plague from work I didn’t want to give it to anyone.  However I come to find out 3 more people now have it.  Lovely… And on top of it all, Mr. Fantabulous has been fighting this for a week now though he is just riding the fence of having it.  He’s eating Zicam like it’s his job though it seems to be keeping it at bay.

Finally by Wednesday I felt human enough to go into the office though, even now, 10 days into when I first started getting sick, am still sick.  The doc was right – this may take 3 weeks to run its course.  Anyway I did get some great news on Wednesday – they are sending me and a few folks to a conference in May to Vegas.  WOO HOO! That’s super awesome.  Hopefully this death plague will be gone.  LOL  Also, so you know how when you take Prednisone you tend to want to eat everything that is not nailed down and gain a ton of weight?  Well the first time I ever took it years ago that happened to me.  I gained 7 pounds in 4 days.  However this time I LOST 12 pounds in 5 days.  I’m praying to stay on this for a month!  LOL

Yesterday we went to order the flooring for our downstairs ONLY to come home with 6 more samples plus 2 tile samples for upstairs.  LOL  However Mr. Fantabulous said he’s going back on Monday to order everything.  We’ll see… LOL

Anyway I should sign off as I have 2 client recipes I have to get done today with photo shoots – I need another 24 hours in a week.  I need a TKWday added! Anyway, have a fantabulous week!
