Tuesday’s Tip with The Kitchen Whisperer – Easiest Way to Shred Chicken

Happy Tuesday TKW Family!  On today’s Tuesday’s Tip with The Kitchen Whisperer, I’m going to be sharing with you the fastest, and easiest way to shred cooked chicken. With spring here, it’s almost cook out time which means burgers, dogs and chicken.  Now if you’re like me I also love pulled chicken and pork at cook outs.  However shredding it can be a pain in the butt.  You can most definitely use the 2 fork method which I often use if I want larger chunks left in the dish but when you are feeding a crowd, it’s best to have the chicken or pork all the same size pieces.  Plus you don’t have folks fighting over “He got more or bigger pieces than I!”  Yes there are grown folks that do this too.

Tuesday-Tip
So okay this is seriously the easiest thing ever and all it really requires are two things – the chicken or pork to be hot and a stand mixer with the paddle attachment (you can use the whisk attachment but I prefer the paddle myself).  I haven’t tried it with a hand mixer but I think it would work. To shred it simply put your chicken in the bowl of your stand mixer (keep in mind you don’t want to go more than half way full in the bowl with your full pieces of chicken). Turn the mixer on low then up to medium for seconds and VOILA!  Perfectly shredded chicken or pork every single time.

Easy, peasy, huh?!

Do you have a kitchen hack you’d love to share and have featured on here?  Let me know!

The mixer is your friend also when making freezer jam. The recipe on the box usually has you stir until the sugar is dissolved, which can take several minutes, up to 10 even! Turn it on low, and away it works, and saves your shoulder!
