Weekly Menu

Get out of that same ol’ recipe rut and try one of these delicious and easy recipes this week!  This week I highly recommend making the Italian Zucchini Rustica pie and the Double Chicken Power Greens Soup.

Happy Sunday TKW Family!  What’s shakin’ in your world?  This past week for me was pretty lazy to be honest.  If you recall I had 2 weeks vacation scheduled that I forgot about. Well with some nudging by my boss I took him up on it and took a few days off from work.  We had originally planned to head to our favorite resort for 2 weeks however our reservations fell through sadly. In a way I guess it’s a blessing as with everything that’s going on with my family and then Mr. Fantabulous getting sick, perhaps it for the best. Needless to say we didn’t go anywhere or do anything; that is unless you count my getting my oil changed and car washed something.  I didn’t even shop.  Well that’s not true. I did hit up Homegoods but for the first time EVER I walked out of that store empty handed.  I just wasn’t in the mood to shop. Weird huh?  Instead I spent the days at home taking care of him though he slept a good portion of 3 days.  I made a few things recipe-wise but honestly all I did was do…nothing.

It was surreal to be honest.  I never not do something.  I never EVER just watch tv yet I did.  I found this series on Showtime that I immediately got hooked on!  In 1.5 days I watched an entire series – 12 episodes!  I’m halfway through season 2.  It’s called Masters of S*x (gotta keep it clean for the kids).  Sure it has inappropriate scenes for kids but honestly I overlook that as the story itself is so incredible. I definitely recommend it however again it’s not for little eyes or if you’re offended easily.

Thankfully yesterday Mr. Fantabulous was feeling much better that we could still head over to support our friend’s gun bash. It’s always a blast when we get to hang out with him and our friends plus become more educated about gun safety. So many of us kept telling him that he needs to host his own company gun bash.  He said if he did that I was to cater it. Now that would be SUPER excited (and kinda scary).  I haven’t done something of that magnitude since I worked at my brother’s pizza shop and we catered the world BMX championships. 3 days (and nights) I LIVED at a BMX track where I’d get up at 4:30 to start breakfast and would cook all day until 10pm to feed these champions. We had a good sized staff.  However if TKW were to do this gun bash I’d definitely need help.  So if it comes to that, bring your aprons and wooden spoons as I’m going to be calling you guys.  LOL

Today I have a few recipes and shoots I need to get done.  I’m working on a new appetizer for our friends over at Daisy Fresh. I’m sharing with you guys my absolute LOVE LOVE LOVE of Brod & Taylor’s Professional Knife Sharpener.  Seriously this thing is a god send in the kitchen! I have killer zucchini, cranberry and white chocolate bar recipe as well. Plus I’m working on a few new recipes involving good ol’ potatoes.  Next to pizza and bacon I love potatoes. And now, thanks to Mr. Fantabulous introducing me to them, I love sweet potatoes.

So with that, this chickie needs to get her flour covered booty (I was baking earlier this morning and have flour handprints on my backside) into the kitchen and start cooking.  Have one fantabulously amazing week!
