Weekly Menu

Get out of that same ol’ recipe rut and try one of these delicious and easy recipes this week! This week I highly recommend making the Baked Creamy Corn Casserole with Crab! and Guinness Corned Beef Reuben Pizza!

Happy Sunday TKW Family!  How are things in your world? Things here are cold.  Looks like winter finally decided to show up after all.  However truth be told, it’s nowhere near what it’s been in the past few years. No sub zero temps and no bajillion inches of snow.  However when I drove into work last Tuesday the one radio dude said that we may get 22″ of snow over the weekend. Yeah we got maybe 2″ which trust me I’m not complaining. But it was funny as Saturday I had to run out to the store early to get some cereal for a shoot and while I was there you would have thought the world was ending by how many people were there!  I, well I just hit up the wine & spirits section to grab a 6-pack of Guinness for my corned beef as well as a 6-pack of Henry’s Hard Soda.  I ended up getting the orange as they were out of grape. When I was pushing my cart out of there one guy looked at my cart, looked at me and smile saying “Smart girl!  All the necessities!” lol

But the whole running out to the store like it’ll be the last time you’ll ever have access to bread, milk and toilet paper when they announce snow is heading your way is something I will never understand.  I mean seriously, it’s not snomageddon. And worst case you’re stuck at home for a couple of days. Those items are stuff you should already have on hand, no?  I don’t know, maybe it’s me but I can live without bread and milk for a few days.  Toilet paper though… yeah, this is why we buy the big packs people!

So if you follow me on Instagram you would have seen all of the progress Mr. Fantabulous made on the media and billiard room with the flooring.  This is just in one room; we have another room slightly smaller than that one plus the reading room, hallway, office, studio and 2 storage areas. Yeah it’s big but he’s making progress.  Though I worry about him as this house has taken such a toll on him physically and mentally. It’s like his spirit is broken. I just pray to all that’s holy that once we put it on the market that it sells super fast.  It’s honestly a once in a lifetime house for someone as it’s incredible but it’s just too much for the 2 of us.

This is probably my most favorite part of the house – this room. It’s HUGE and I absolutely love the fireplace!  But do you see the tray ceiling all around and above the fireplace?  Yeah he built that. We literally gutted that room down to the cinder block walls and cement floor. We did everything… and I have the stained shirts, torn pants, scars and aches/pains from doing it.

Mr. Fantabulous is kicking butt on the flooring! This room is about 3/4’s done! This is the media room. . ⭐️⭐️⭐️ . #thekitchenwhisperer #diy #remodel #construction #flooring #hardwood #sodonewiththis

This, this is why we made 984,207 trips to Lowes and Home Depot. LOL

The other half of the room! More progress!!! Mr. Fantabulous is kicking butt on the flooring! This is the billiard room. . 🎱 . #thekitchenwhisperer #diy #remodel #construction #flooring #hardwood #sodonewiththis

Also since many of you have pressure cookers I’m working on some of my most popular recipes and transforming the original ones into pressure cooker ones. I took my Guinness Crock Pot Corned Beef & Cabbage with a Guinness Reduction Sauce recipe and made it literally in 94 minutes in the pressure cooker! The only thing I didn’t make was the reduction sauce yet – I was too tired. My goal is to post the recipe by Wednesday this week in time for St. Patrick’s day!

Omg!!! No for real, OMFG!!! The absolute freaking BEST Guinness Corned Beef I have ever had and all done in 93 minutes thanks to the pressure cooker!!! . 🍀 . #buzzfeedfood #huffposttaste #thekitchenwhisperer #thekitchn #eeeeeats #pressurecooker #guinness #cornedbeef #cabbage #delicious #stpatricksday #delicious #chef #cheflife #chefsofinstagram

But peeps I hate to cut this short as I have sooooooooo much to get done today. My goals today are (and in no particular order):

– post weekly menu (currently in progress)
– write 3 posts for this week (at least the photos are edited)
– edit and publish Guinness Corned Beef & Cabbage Pressure Cooker recipe (most likely won’t post til Wednesday so if you want it now, email me)
– laundry
– breakfast for us
– dust and wax furniture
– not put real pants on
– actually sit and watch a movie all by myself while Mr. Fantabulous is at band practice
– help Mr. Fantabulous put down another row of flooring
– relax for 7 minutes

Have one magically delicious week!

♣ Monday – Thick ‘n Creamy Loaded Potato Soup
♣ Tuesday – Baked Creamy Corn Casserole with Crab!
♣ Wednesday – Crispy Crunchy Crusted Chicken Fingers
♣ Thursday –  Guinness Crock Pot Corned Beef & Cabbage with a Guinness Reduction Sauce
♣ Friday –  Guinness Corned Beef Reuben Pizza
♣ Saturday – The Quintessential Perfect Reuben
♣ Sunday – BBQ Meatloaf Stacks
♣ Dessert of the week – OMG! Bars

Sharing is caring!

That room looks fabulous. The fireplace is a show-stopper! Having tackled almost 2000sf of wood-look ceramic tiles ourselves, including ripping out the old tile, plus repainting kitchen cabs, installing new tile backsplash, painting the house, etc. etc… I know for a fact that you BOTH deserve major kudos and time off once it’s all done. That’s hard, back-breaking, work and our job nearly wasn’t as big as yours. Maybe a spa week… on an island… in Tahiti. Yeah, that’s a suitable reward.

Oh God hon Tahiti sounds amazing right now! Heck a weekend in the middle of no where sounds blissful too. I really appreciate your comments. Yes I absolutely LOVE that fireplace as well! We have one like that upstairs as well that separates the formal dining room from the formal living room. When it’s all done and on the market I’ll post full pictures and maybe a walking tour of the house. I just want it to done.

      Best Kitchen Wishes!
