Get out of that same ol’ recipe rut and try one of these delicious and easy recipes this week! This week I highly recommend making the 15 Minute Creamy Lemon Pepper Parmesan Pasta with Langostino and Pressure Cooker BBQ Jelly Drumsticks!
Happy Sunday TKW Family! I have a million and 47 things I need to get done today and by Thursday. I’m having yet another shoulder surgery this upcoming Friday and to be honest, I’m rather scared about this one. So I’m going to be real with you all. I’ve had 8 major knee surgeries including a torn ACL and hamstring; I’ve had 2 hernia repairs, stomach surgery, skin removal surgery and 2 rotator cuff surgeries. Nothing, NOTHING compares to the pain I experienced like I did with the cuff surgeries. Now granted the first one the nerve block wore off in under 5 hours (found out the guy shot me in the wrong spot so that’s why it wore off). The 2nd cuff surgery, the nerve block lasted 26 hours because I told the Dr. to give me enough for an elephant. HOWEVER, once the block wore off I pretty much wanted to die from the pain. I, a girl that barely takes Tylenol due to being allergic to most stuff, dealt with the allergic reaction to the pain medicine just to bear it.
Now if this upcoming surgery was just another rotator cuff surgery I’d at least be prepared. But it’s not. You see I also tore my bicep tendon lengthways and they have to essentially cut the tendon off, repair it with duct tape or some magic and then screw it back to my bone. Lovely huh? Mr. Fantabulous had that done about 2 years ago and for a month he was in sheer agony – even with the pain meds. The doc already said “Lori, I’m not going to bs you, this will hurt; this will hurt bad. You’re going to have to take the pain medicine no matter what.”
Lovely… But hopefully this will fix me finally and in a year when it’s all healed I’ll be good as new or rather I’ll be bionic. lol
So what does that mean for TKW and the website? Nothing really.
At most you may see a little less interaction from me the first week. Since the surgery is on my right shoulder (and I’m right handed) I won’t be typing at all and my email/message responses will be slow. I’ll do my best but be patient with me. What I am going to do (which is why I’m so busy now) is write up at least 10-12 recipe posts and schedule them that way you’ll still get deliciousness delivered to your email and posted to social media. I normally am not a fan of scheduling posts but I also don’t want to leave you guys hanging either. And with that guys, I need to scoot my butt out the door and get the grass cut while Mr. Fantabulous weekwhacks. You have yourself one amazing week!

Wishing you the best of outcomes from your upcoming surgery. Sounds like you have been thru a lot of them! Good luck and speedy recovery!
Ps. I just joined today and am having fun looking thru the recipes! Can’t wait to try them. I’m actually trying your Cornish hens recipe tonight after I run to the store for a couple ingredients! Might just as well make the hassleback potatoes and zuchinni fries too! 🙃

Lori – what are you doing in your life that causes all of the tears?! Eight surgeries? You have me beat. Hysterectomy, gall bladder removal, 2 carpal tunnels, L-spine, rt breast lumpectomy, and this past February pinky toe and metatarsal amputation. I had a block for the amputation and it stayed with me for a long time. My leg is numb from knee to toes. It’s a blessing because I can’t feel when the doc does gross hurtful stuff to my foot.
I hope this new surgery goes well for you and it isn’t as bad as you anticipate. Take the meds. I’ll pray for you. Oh, the jelly BBQ chicken looks delicious. Can wings or breasts be used?

Hi sweetie! Oh yeah I forgot about my gall bladder and appendix surgies too. LOL So all but 2 of the knee surgeries were due to my getting hit by a drunk driver when I was 22. The other 2 knee surgeries were from working out. The 2 left shoulder surgeries were from a car accident were a deer decided I didn’t need to drive for a while and ran into my car. This most recent injury is honestly from carrying 10 cast iron pans all at once. Thank you so much honey for your warm wishes!
And most definitely you can ues wings, thighs or breasts for the jelly bbq chiken drumsticks.
Best Kitchen Wishes!
