Weekly Menu

These Weekly Menu recipes allow you to get out of that same ol’ recipe rut and try some delicious and easy dishes! This week I highly recommend making the Ziti Peperonata with Hot Sausage, the Ham, Turkey and Cheese Stuffed Pizza Puffs and the Crock Pot Honey Sesame Chicken!

Oh hallelujah, happy Sunday! Folks when I say this week pretty much did me in, I’m serious. Gosh I don’t even know where to start – from cicadas, tornadoes, monsoon rains, down trees, to getting bitten so badly by bugs that I looked like I had measles. If Mother Nature and all that’s holy is reading this – I’m waiving the white flag! YOU WIN!

However with this weekly menu, YOU’LL BE THE WINNER!

Apocalyptic Weather

Guys when I say Mother Nature unleashed all hell on our area I’m not joking! For almost 5 days straight my area was in the ‘red’ on the radar, my phone was going off non-stop about tornado warnings, flash floods and monsoon rains – and this went on for days. The one time it got so bad we actually grabbed “survival gear” and headed down to the one storage room downstairs. Now granted my survival gear was my cell phone charger, my tennis shoes and my water bottle while in my pj’s. LOL Living in Pittsburgh we don’t get weather like this normally.

The winds and rain was wretched. Remember that scene in Forrest Gump when the rain came and it was non-stop hard rain? That’s what this was like only accompanied with tornado stuff. One touched down 2 miles from where I live.  The only “damage” we had to our property was a tree went down just brushing against the gazebo. It was eh – 16″ wide or so but thankfully just the very tippy top branches hit the building and didn’t cause any damage.

But you know what I think caused all of this? Cicadas. Seriously – we never, EVER get weather like this. July is our “wet” month and even that isn’t terribly bad. But this year those creepy little things came up from a 17-year siesta in the ground and now all hell broke loose. If you’ve never seen one up close (the bug or their shell), be thankful! They are CREEPY. And of course, they are EVERYWHERE here.

The worse part of it all is the sound they make. It’s NON-STOP! It’s such a deafening sound that literally reminds me of something that would be used to torture someone.

Shameless Mr. Fantabulous Band Plug

I wouldn’t be a good wife if I didn’t at least mention to you guys that if you’re local to Pittsburgh and are a fan of 80’s metal and hard rock (think Ratt, AcDc, Motley Crue, Metallica and so forth) they have a gig coming up on Friday, June 7th and another on Saturday, July 5th. You can check it out on their facebook page for more details.

Weekly Menu Recipes

With that guys, I’m going to go grab some dinner, sit on the couch and enjoy some peace and quiet while Mr. Fantabulous is at band practice. Below I’ve put together some easy and delicious meal prep recipes that can help with dinner or lunch for the week. Plus dessert as well, you always have to have dessert! Is your favorite recipe listed?

With that, have one fantabulously amazing week!
