I know, you’re probably wondering “Why in the world would I ever need Peanut Butter Simple Syrup???”

Trust me, you’ll thank me in the next post! Most of you know to use simple syrups in drinks; i.e, mojitos.  However simple syrups are not just for drinks.

Next time you make a cake, muffin, cookie, sweet bread or any dessert really, brush the top with a flavor simple syrup.  It’s insanely good!

Making this stuff couldn’t be any easier…

Literally put the sugar and water in a pan.  When the sugar is dissolved and it starts to bubble, add the peanut butter and cook until slightly thick.

Yeah.. THAT simple.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter

Instructions

  1. In a medium heavy bottom pan over medium heat add the sugar and water.
  2. Stir occasionally or until the sugar is all dissolved.
  3. Once dissolved, add in the peanut butter and stir well.
  4. Bring to a rolling boil stirring every so often. Keep an eye on it as it has the potential to bubble over. The whole process should take 10-15 minutes.
  5. Remove from the pan and store in a glass lidded jar. No need to refrigerate.

Made this earlier and it was delicious!!! Could you actually can this in a water bath? If not how long will it last just in a jar unrefrigerated?

      Hi Danielle!

Thank you so much! Actually I would highly advise not to water bath can these as there is little to no acidity in them and it has dairy in it. Dairy, in home canners, isn’t recommended by the FDA.

You can put it in the fridge for longer term storage (mine lasts at least a month in the fridge).

This was absolutely amazing ! Thank you so much for sharing . I made a birthday cake. Except it was Reese’s peanut butter cheese cake. Topped with peanut butter whipped cream and chocolate drizzle but I couldn’t wrap my mind around what else to drizzle on the top it seemed like something was missing. And to my surprise your peanut butter syrup made an awesome drizzle for the topper!! Thanks it was amazing!!

Haha!! Thank you !! Omg it was delicious !! It was so hard to share 😂 although if your planning on a recipe for this I insist on having extra Reese’s for the top as well!! I didn’t think of it until after ha.. so when we ate the left over cheese cake I had went to the store to get more just for the topping. They did not go to waste lol

Haha that’s too funny!! You’re right it normally is!! Except I made two of them the first one was a guinea pig testing haha!! So we actually had left overs of that one which wasn’t bad but wasn’t as thick and peanut buttery as the second one 😂 I definitely got my intake of a months worth of calories 😂😂and every bite was worth it!! That being said… I wonder if anyone’s tried a cheesecake waffle!!?? Lol!! If there is a way to make waffles from bananas and oatmeal there is a way for cheesecake waffles!!! Haha!!

I’ve actually made two versions of a cheesecake waffle. The first one had no bake cheesecake batter in the waffle batter. I topped it with berries and whipped cream. It was good but it just seemed “wrong”. Kind of like making a gorgeous white icing topped cupcake only to bite in to find it was a meatloaf. Cupcake with mashed potatoes frosting,

The second one was to make a graham cracker crumb waffle topped with a few scoops of no bake cheesecake finished with a berry sauce. Now that was EPIC!

Do you have any recipes for a white cream filling? I love tiramisu and make it every Christmas. I replace the mascarpone cheese ( not to crazy for it ) with making my own whipped cream. I’m looking for a different type of filling that is not too heavy and but light, like the whipped cream. Do you have any suggestions for me? Thank you ☺

P.S. LOL…SORRY FOR THE MISTYPE IN MY FIRST POST.

      Hi Lisa,

Try this one: http://www.thekitchenwhisperer.net/2014/02/12/croissant-love-ganache-pastry-cream-fresh-berries/ Or what about a whipped pudding filling?

      Rebecca,

Do you mean like syrups or toppings? I have ones for lemon, strawberry, pineapple and blueberry if that’s what you’re referring to.

      http://www.thekitchenwhisperer.net/2013/07/23/strawberry-vanilla-bean-ice-cream-topping/ – for example.

If that’s what you are looking for, they are all listed under here:

I can’t wait to see what you come up with using this! Definitely share it!

While I’m not a pancake or waffle person, this is really, REALLY good on bacon chunk pancakes and waffles 🙂
