Happy Sunday TKW Family!  So before we get started let’s talk about Halloween – how’d your kids do on candy?  And more importantly, what ones did you steal while they were asleep?  LOL  Now if your kids are like how I was as a kid they’d go to sleep with their container of candy nestled under their bed.  Hey I had to!  With 4 older brothers and a sister I think that would punch a nun for Reese’s cups I had to hide it.  So I’d take my plastic pumpkin to bed with me though Mama was smart, she’d wrap up the whole pumpkin in plastic wrap so I couldn’t get at it either. She didn’t want me to sneak pieces while I was pretending to sleep.

So let me ask, when you take your kids around do you dress up too?  What about your pets?  I can remember when I was single and living in my first house almost all of the parents dressed up while walking their kids and at times the dogs got dressed up too.  My first year I only gave out candy but the next few years that I lived in the house I’d pass out candy for the kids or soda, beer or jell-o shots to the parents.  I mean that’s a lot of walking folks!  Sadly now living in countrybumpkinville we don’t get any kids. It makes me sad as I always looked forward to seeing the kids.  With us not having any it’s nice to see their adorable little faces light up.  This is why I can’t wait to move to a real neighborhood where you get the kids and the fun stuff – block parties, cook outs and so forth.  Here, yeah… let’s just say I can’t wait to move.

11-2-14

You’ve probably notice these past 2 weeks have been kind of light on the recipe postings.  I’m sorry about that.  With the new job my whole routine got shifted and I didn’t quite find my groove. It’s funny as I’m finding myself with more free time since my commute doesn’t take FOREVER but for some reason I just lost track of time.  However I’m back with a ton of new recipes.

So was it me or did this weekend go extremely fast?  Heck the whole week seemed to fly by.  The first 3 days at work I was in orientation.  Now normally when you start a new job orientation is kind of boring.  Sure it’s a necessity and I totally agree with it but when I saw I had 3 days of it I led out a groan.  However with this new company, it was really cool.  The trainers were excellent and made it fun.  Saturday I ran my normal errands (Costco, Sam’s Club, Food Porn Props Store) and then I met my 2 SFAM’s for lunch at this burger place.  Now my BHLS (black hearted little sister) would move into this restaurant if given the chance and she pretty much told me that if I didn’t like it she would have to stab me with a fork while slowly sobbing inside though I’m not sure if she would be sobbing over stabbing me or over the fact that I didn’t like the place.  However the place was really good.  We went to Burgatory at the Waterfront for all of you Pittsburgh folks.  We must have got there at the right time as there was no line.  The prices aren’t cheap $6 for a shake and ~$12+ for a burger with homemade chips.  I ended up getting the chicken burger which is ground chicken and not a chicken patty, caramelized onion marmalade, smoked gouda, bacon (cause bacon goes on everything) and arugula.  The burger was pretty damn good.  And shake – fluffernutter was insane though about half way through it got a bit too much for me.  Remember I don’t eat stuff like that so it was too much sugar for me though I’d totally get it again to share.

Needless to say I didn’t get stabbed with the fork and got to spend time with my sisters.  Saturday night we went to our friend’s annual Halloween party.  Mr. Fantabulous went as a rocker wearing zebra striped spandex pants and a tank with this faux hawk and I as a rocker chick with these boots that KILLED my feet but looked absolutely fantabulous!  LOL  What was cool is for me, living over an hour away from them we don’t get to see them often so it was mini reunion for me.  I grew up with most of the people at the party and made a bunch of new friends.  What was awesome, and humbling, is that I met folks that knew me as TKW and not as Lori.  It was great meeting them and making new friends that way.  It’s nice to put a face with folks you chat with on facebook. Plus people got to see me and my hubby.  I was asked how come I never posted pictures of he and I on the website or the TKW facebook page.  Honestly I have no clue.  I just never really thought of it I guess.  Or perhaps I haven’t done it as I don’t want to scare you all.  LOL

So what’s on tap for you all this week?  Any big plans?  I know local football teams are in the playoffs.  For me I may be doing some traveling for work to one of our other locations.  I want to get myself known through out those offices – it helps me to put a face to the person on the other end of the phone/computer.  With that, here’s to you (and I) having one amazing week!  For now enjoy the weekly menu!

I also use to hand out to the parents Trick or Drinking. I never thought of Jello Shots but what I made was Hot Apple Cider and had rum and brandy to put in it or leave it out. I also gave normal size candy bars. I get no kids anymore and it makes me sad. Maybe I’ll have them again.
