Man this month is just flying by! This post, as you can tell, is coming very late in the day. I’m typing it up on very, VERY sore and frigid fingers and an even more cold and sore body. See Mr. Fantabulous had outside in the misting rain where it was maybe 33F all day for a good 6 hours trying to fix the lighting that lines our driveway. My face hurts (yeah I know, it’s killing you too huh? LOL), my arms are so sore I can barely lift them and I know I should eat but I just don’t have the energy. This is one of those days where I hate more than usual where we live as I would LOVE to be able to order out for a great pizza but yeah, we don’t have that here in countrybumpkinville. We do have a few ‘chain’ type places but I don’t do that… ever! If it’s not made fresh in house, I don’t want it. I’m a pizza snob point blank.
This past week was pretty good work-wise. I’m just now starting to build out my organization and can’t wait to bring new people on. We had Food Day to celebrate the holidays and long story short, it got out “who” I was outside of work. So many folks knew about TKW and knew me as the new girl, Lori, at work but no one put it together that *I* was the new girl. Well that all has changed and I was met with open arms. It’s humbling to hear people say how much they love my site or my recipes. Honestly I couldn’t ask for anything better. It’s so honest and sincere and truthfully I get bashful about it. My new work is awesome and my new co-workers are just incredible! I just ‘fit’ if that makes sense. Sure I miss my old work family but those folks are stuck with me for life – they can’t get rid of me *wink*.
I had my annual bestie’s lunch with my girlfriends which is something I always look forward to. It’s awesome as while we all have our own unique personalities we truly are cut from the same mold. My one girlfriend made me these crocheted slippers/booties that literally brought tears to my eyes. The other got me this amazing cookbook and pig bacon press. And they both got me to-die-for chocolate chunks to bake with. Seriously these girls know me to the core. Love you Liz and Vanessa!!!
I also went solo to a holiday party since Mr. Fantabulous was under the weather. This party was at friends of ours that I grew up with. Now we all knew one another in school but we never hung out. However through the magic of Facebook, friendships were rekindled and new ones formed. It’s amazing how much social media has changed my life in that respect.
I have a lot planned this week as I start my vacation on Tuesday then the on with the orders for the holidays. So with that, here’s to one amazing week for you and I!
OH OH OH before I forget, did you check out my Foodie Gift Guide post I had up the other day. This thing is getting RAVE reviews! You should really check it out!
