Happy Sunday TKW Family! It’s time for another weekly menu to help provide you with ideas with dinners for the week. How was your past week? Mine was pretty good. Still super busy at work (which I love – I hate sitting around) and busy with TKW. So I FINALLY got my car back from the collision center. After 2 attempts to get it only to not have it fixed I guess the third time is really the charm, eh? But get this, don’t you know that morning I’m to pick it up I’m on my way to work in the rental car at the butt-crack-o-dawn (yes that’s an official time on the clock) and ANOTHER 6 point gargantuan buck jumped out in front of me! No, seriously! WTH Bambi! Do you guys have a pact death wish? Thankfully I was able to pump the brakes and swerve off into the side of the road. Plus I was only going 40 at the time. I’m one of those “slow drivers” when it’s dark out now. I have that fear you know? That fear of what else is going to jump out in front of me. My luck the next thing will be a damn black bear or bigfoot! Only instead of wrecking my car I’ll only end up ticking it off! LOL
OH OH OH so I finally was able to complete a full hour spin class since the accident. I had to modify it quite a bit as I couldn’t really do any of the jumps with my shoulder as jacked up as it is. I tried (cause I’m an idiot who thinks she has super human powers and can ignore pain) and let’s just say I almost immediately sat back down. See I have to hold on with both hands when I either do position 2 or 3 – I can’t just stand there and not hold on. One, it’s not safe and two – I’m a clutz and will fall off. So instead I just cranked the intensity and pretty much punished my legs and butt. Today yeah… it hurts to walk or sit but what do they say? “Pain is just weakness leaving the body”
This week has been weird. Like it almost felt like I spent barely any time with Mr. Fantabulous. I know the one night I came home not feeling too hot that I actually told him that I was going to take a nap for about 45 minutes before we went to the gym. That was at 4:15. I got up at almost 8:30! When I came out of the bedroom and into the office where he was all groggy and disoriented I asked why he didn’t wake me. He simply said “Honey you looked so peaceful that I didn’t have the heart to wake you. You work so much and you barely sleep a few hours a night. Your body was telling you to slow down.” I just smiled and kissed him on the forehead. I went out to the kitchen to make him dinner only to find the clean dishes from the dishwasher put away, the dirty ones put in and that he had made himself something to eat. Plus to boot he went downstairs and put the clothes from the washer into the dryer and folded the load that was in the dryer! I just stood there in awe. Who is this man and where did my husband go? I mean there were no open cereal boxes lying out, no dirty dishes on the table and not a single cupboard open! LOL I just stood there smiling from ear to ear with my witchy pooh hair, inside out pajamas and sleepy eyes. I married one amazing man folks.
Last night we went out with another couple to see a band play and grab some dinner. The band was awesome (I’m really good friends with 2 of the members) and let’s just say where we were…yeah, never again. No, like ever! The worst service I have ever experienced in my life. So after I pretty much had to beg to get our checks we left there and hit up this other bar/club. Now I had never been to this place even though it’s within walking distances of the Fantabulous’ in-laws house. It was supposed to be disco night. Now don’t go judging me. I like disco and honestly almost all music…even some rap and country though they are both sparse. However when we got there it was more 80’s to current. What was kinda cool, kinda creepy at the same time was the age group. I mean we’re talking 21 to 85. I’ve just never been in a setting like that. What threw me though was it was as-if time stood still fashion-wise. I mean almost everyone was in their 80’s type clothing. Acid washed jeans, overalls that were buttoned at the waist with only one strap on the shoulder connected. Don Johnson hair and pants suits, MC Hammer pants and so forth. It literally was like the club that time forgot. I have to admit though the music was awesome. If we lived closer I’d go back because it seemed like a blast but unfortunately due to the place we were ate prior I was in a really bad mood (which doesn’t happen often). Plus by that point my shoulder was really starting to hurt and I just wanted to crawl under the covers.
Speaking of covers… I’m on a 3-day weekend right now. I just pulled a late lunch out of the oven (4-cheese chicken enchiladas) so we’re going to eat ad go snuggle up under the covers.
Here’s to one amazing week!
