Happy Sunday TKW Family! Man what a super busy week this has been! Last Sunday we went to Kennywood here in Pittsburgh. I’m not a fan of amusement parks as I don’t ride (trust me, it’s not pretty) and I really don’t eat junk food which most parks serve. Mr. Fantabulous loves to ride however with him just having shoulder surgery a few weeks ago he wasn’t allowed to. It’s funny as the only thing we did ride was the train – you know what the old people ride when they can’t ride roller coasters anymore. That’s what we all said growing up when we’d see the long line of middle-aged and elderly folks waiting to get one. We’d scoff and laugh at those folks because us kids would never be caught on a train in an amusement park.
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnd we’ve totally become those folks which honestly I get it now. It’s actually an awesome thing! I don’t have to worry about ‘fitting in’ and riding the steepest, fastest or the thing that practically turns you inside out seven ways from Sunday. No more getting off that ride, green-faced frantically running towards the nearest garbage can to hurl. I’ll let you in on a little secret “kids” us old folks waiting in line for the train are now making fun of you – puke stains, green faced and soggy soaked clothes. I now understand why all those “old farts” standing in line were just smiling from ear to ear as we walked by them. It’s not because they were out of it, it’s because they were making fun of us! LOL
So how many of you hit up the All-Clad Factory sale this past weekend? I made my appearance to work with some of the folks that run it and fall in love every single time. I just am THRILLED by how flawless the event is run. When 200k+ people go through a 2-day sale and it’s incredible by the ease and grace that it’s run. However if you didn’t get a chance to make the sale, don’t fret as they are having a HUGE online Factory Sale June 15th through the 17th BUT you need to get on the list!
So do the following:
1. Send an email to allcladvipfactorysale@groupeseb.com and ask them to add you to the invite list for this.
2. You MUST tell them that The Kitchen Whisperer sent you.
3. 1-3 days prior to the event you’ll get a username and password. If you do not, send them an email or you can always send me one (tkwadmin@thekitchenwhisperer.net) and we’ll get it straightened out.
Okay folks I hate to cut this short but I’m traveling again this week so I need to get my butt to the stores and get the grass cut and work on more recipes for the site and cook for Mr. Fantabulous… and find some snugglin’ time with him ♥
Here’s to you having an amazing week!
Best Kitchen Wishes!

Hi Kitchen Whisperer,
I have to tell you I love your site. I especially love the slow cooked short rib recipe. Can you tell me where I can find these bad boys on sale? They are so expensive. I live just North of Baltimore.

Hi Melanie!
OMG thank you so much! That really means a lot to me! I get my short ribs either at my local butcher for about $6.99 a pound or at Costco (boneless) for $7.99 a pound. Sam’s club does carry them but they are Flanken Cut (which I don’t like). In the flanken style of short rib it’s a thin cut which is about 1/2-inch thick, goes across the bones so that each slice contains a few pieces of bone.
Plus it can’t hurt to ask your local grocery store if they go on sale OR if you offer to buy say 5lbs of them if they will give you discount.
Best Kitchen Wishes!
Hi TKW,
Thanks again! I love Costco meats. I will definitely try your recipe using the boneless short ribs. Thanks again for the speedy response.
