Happy Sunday TKW Family! It’s time for another edition of my weekly menu. This week was a very heavyhearted week for me. My dear sweet sister-in-law lost her 13 month-long battle to cancer. Cindy was an angel among us who truly will be missed. She is at peace now and walking through heaven with my parents, grandmother and her animals.
Life is so precious that we often take it, and others, for granted. Cancer has no rhyme or reason; no preference as to who it takes – it just does what it wants. I pray that in my lifetime they find an actual cure as it’s such a cruel and horrific disease. While it may have taken Cindy’s life here on earth, it can never take away her spirit within me. My love for her will forever go on as she is a part of my heart and my soul. To all of you that reached out to me in such a time of sorrow thank you. Your kind words, prayers, love and hugs truly touched my heart and though I had tears streaming down my face I ready each and every message, listened to every voicemail and felt every virtual hug. A simple thank you doesn’t seem enough for what you all did for me.
So now my family and I, though still saddened, celebrate the love and joy she did bring to our lives. The smiles she put on our faces, the love she added to our hearts.
So tell me about your week.
This past weekend was the All-Clad winter factory sale. Since Mr. Fantabulous still has his arm in a sling I decided to make it a girls’ day and have a date with Mama Fantabulous. I dropped my hubby off with his Dad and she and I went shopping. Now if you ever met Mama Fantabulous you would just love this woman to pieces. She’s a spitfire to a ‘T’ and one of those ladies you just want to put in your pocket she’s so cute and fiesty! We walked in and immediately I ran into my All-Clad family. Hugs were abundant and then we got to shopping.
If you followed my live posts on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram you could see the aisles upon aisles of amazing items they had. It’s absolutely breath taking visually – all those shiny pots, pans, gadgets and gizmos! Up and down the aisles we went gabbing to people all around us. The sales were INSANE (as expected) and Mama Fantabulous scored some really sweet pans and a roaster that originally is $150 for $39! SCORE! Now for those of you that aren’t able to make the sale in person make sure you check back here as well as my facebook page for information about their V.I.P. online sales.
After shopping we decided to extend our “date” and do some grocery shopping. I mean we need food to cook in these pans, right? LOL We then grabbed a quick lunch and then hit up the Krispy Kreme for Mr. Fantabulous. You see the closest store is almost 1.5 hours from my house and it so happens to be on the way home from the All-Clad sale. WIN WIN for both of us! So twice a year I stop at the donut place and grab him 3-4 dozen of the glazed. Yes, you read that right…3-4 dozen. And fyi… he’s the only one in our house that eats them. I don’t like them at all though I’m not a donut fan really.
As soon as we got back to Mama F’s house I wasn’t met with “honey I miss you!” but rather ‘sniff sniff sniff’… “I smell donuts! Wait, where are they??? Did you stop and eat there? Didn’t you get anyway???” as he proceeded to sniff around like a bloodhound! LOL Me, being me, left the donuts in the car (on purpose). I brought everything in, went upstairs, took my sweater off and just started to chat with Papa Fantabulous like nothing was going on. Within seconds Mr. Fantabulous came up looking like I stole his dog because he thought I didn’t get him any donuts. It just so happened that I ‘had’ to put something in my car (which gave me an excuse to go grab the donuts). As I walked up the stairs you would have thought I was Santa carrying a big bag of toys for him for when he saw that bag of donuts the smile on his face just lit up the room!
…and of course he called me a little stinker and said he was going to beat my butt… when he had 2 good arms. LOL Ah I so love that man and playing around like that.
With that, I should sign off and start editing photos. I need to get about 3 weeks of posts done by Friday since I’m having another shoulder surgery and I don’t see me typing/cooking anytime soon. So enjoy this week’s menu as it’s a full on meat lovers dream!
