Get out of that same ol’ recipe rut and try one of these delicious and easy recipes this week! This week I highly recommend making the Gobbler Pizza (seriously AMAZING!) and Toasted Almond Chocolate Bark with Sea Salt!
Happy Thanksgiving week TKW Family! So how many of you are taking time off for the holidays? I’ve actually been off since last Friday and am not going back to work until the 30th. So far I’ve only been to Lowes once though Mr. Fantabulous has gone twice – yes he actually went to the store himself. LOL Now my life is anything like the norm. While most who would have that much time off may go visit family or on vacation; yeah that’s not what this girl’s doing. We’re finishing up the back splash in the kitchen which means once that is all done the kitchen will FINALLY be done (other than a few little decorations/etc). I’m also using that time to work on TKW stuff. From now until the end of January is literally non-stop TKW work.
And while I’m praying this isn’t jinxing us, I *think* we might have found someone to help us (by us I mean Mr. Fantabulous) with the flooring downstairs. We have to put in about 3600 sq ft’ of hardwood flooring (engineered wood) downstairs and REALLY not wanting to do it with him. I’m so over construction work it’s not even funny. Perhaps it would be different if I didn’t work a billion hours a week or this was the only work we had to do here at the house but we don’t. This house, while it truly is Barbie’s Dream home, is waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much for just 2 people to take care of. Oh don’t get me wrong, I’m in LOVE LOVE LOVE with all of the space we have in the house and have closet space out the wazoo however the downside of that is the upkeep. Then you factor in tending to the grounds, the leaves and then the snow. I’d say the ONLY saving grace to that the “toys” Mr. Fantabulous has to help us with those tasks.
So are you reading for Thanksgiving this week? Got all your stuff bought yet? I went to 2 stores last night to get a turkey. Dear God… Costco was a hot mess last night. It was RIDICULOUSLY busy! And when I did go to get a turkey the smallest they had was 19 pounds! Yeah no, that’s way too much for 2 people. Plus I hate frozen, cooked turkey. It just doesn’t taste right.
Luckily the 2nd store had a 9.5 lb turkey, which is still pretty big for 2 people, is certainly more manageable. Plus it’ll leave me with just enough so we have a few plates as leftovers and I can make my Thanksgiving Gobbler Pizza!!! Between the pizza and a wrap, I swear that’s probably one of my top reasons as to why I’d make a turkey in the first place. It’s for the leftovers and how I can re-purpose them!
I’m thinking these next what, 10 days I’m off from my day job I’m going to take the evenings off and just relax. Maybe watch some movies with Mr. Fantabulous or even have a total chick-flick mania. OH OH Oh speaking of movies. We went last week and saw “Hacksaw Ridge”. Wow, such a moving story; so powerful. Now truth be told I do not like ‘war’ movies so this movie is not one that I would have ever suggested to go see however Mr. Fantabulous loves them. Saving Private Ryan is one of his favorite movies. Since it was his turn to pick he wanted to go see that. I was fine with it as the theater we go to is amazing. Smaller scale but it has leather recliners for the seats and the most amazing popcorn! Yeah I go for the popcorn! Anyway, I honestly expected I would be bored with this type of movie but man I was so wrong! This movie was incredible!
