Get out of that same ol’ recipe rut and try one of these delicious and easy recipes this week! This week I highly recommend making the Skinny Baked Crispy Crunchy Fish Sticks and the Braised Beef Short Ribs – Ossu Buco Style!
Hey hey hey, happy Sunday TKW Family! What’s shakin’ peeps? I’m tired this morning. Actually I’m not so much tired I guess but rather I have a nasty, nasty headache. It actually woke me up a few times. Are you a dreamer? Meaning when you sleep do you dream? If so, do you remember your dreams? No, not trying to psychoanalyze you but just curious. I’ve always been one to dream vividly and often repeat dreams. Last night though, last night was “odd”. I can’t quite remember what I dreamt about which is unlike me as I remember them always but it was like I was dreaming really hard. Like I woke myself up a few times with my eyes squinched (go with it) shut really tight and almost like I was forcing a dream. Odd…
Maybe I’m just worn out, maybe I’m just old. LOL Ah but seriously I’m so happy last week was over. Talk about crazy. As always I was super busy with my job as well as TKW (yeah!) and then here. It was one of those weeks where I “felt” beat. But I”m tough and pushed through. So we got a bunch more done in the house here. Mr. Fantabulous and I made (well okay he did, I just held the wood) 9 new shelves for the downstairs office supply room, painted them (3 coats each side) and this morning he just hung them. I can’t wait to share the pictures. I’ll give a sneak peek on Instagram so be sure you’re following me there, k?
This weekend was a really, really nice weekend for us as we took a break from the house/work and did what we call “normal people stuff“. Fridays, as you know, is pizza night in my house. That’s a given. Once the pizza was done, sliced and plated, we actually ate in our media room.. ON A COUCH while watching TV! While this seems like not a big deal to most, for us this was huge. It had been 8+ years since we had been able to do that. Now we can and it’s so, SO nice!
Saturday we spent the entire day with the Fantabulous in-laws. God how I love those 2! I took over an Orange Cranberry Bundt Cake and Mama Fantabulous surprised us with one of her amazing Apple Strudels! OMG they are so freaking amazing! So laborious but dear God they are incredible. THEN… lol… THEN I showed them both Snapchat and the funny face filters/videos you can make You see a few nights earlier Mr. Fantabulous and I were, as my Momma would have called it, Slap Happy. Like we giggled at the littlest things and the more he or I laughed, the harder the other one did. Then we were making those videos on Snapchat and sending them to his parents. OMG they were laughing so hard that we all ended up in tears. So yesterday, while we were there, we were making videos. I seriously don’t know who laughed harder.
We also went to a local Italian restaurant because both Mama and I needed a night off from the kitchen. Dinner was good but ours is still a million times better. But again, it was nice to just get out. It’s funny, as when we’re there, time just ceases to exist. Before we knew it, it was almost 2am! I can only pray when I’m their age I have that much energy! Needless to say, with the commute home and putting stuff away, I didn’t get to bed until maybe 3:30am. Maybe that contributed to the weird dream/headache. Maybe again its old age.
So some exciting news! I got the first 2 rounds of proofs for my new logo and brand design. Super excited with the process and can’t wait until the big reveal! So while my designer and developer are doing that, I’ve made it a goal of mine to figure out how to create those food videos you see all over social media. I have the gear, I just have to figure out how to edit them. I’m not a MAC girl and got rid of my iPad as I had zero use for it which means Adobe Premier here I come! I’m well versed in Photoshop and Lightroom as that’s all I use for my photos so I’m hoping teaching Premier isn’t as tough. God how I’d LOVE to have a local person be able to assist with this part.
If you’re not following me on there, please do! I share so many behind the scenes posts as well as more silly-funny stuff.

And then the snow…
And then the ice! Apparently Mr. Freezemiser took up residency in my house!
I guess we should address the fact that I pretty much lost my damn mind while working. LOL Hey some days you just need to be silly!
And then Mama Fantabulous, how I love that woman, made us her most AMAZING Apple Strudel!
And with that guys I need to get some more Tylenol in my body and go see what Mr. Fantabulous wants. My luck it means another trip to Lowes… ugh. Save me! LOL Have one fantabulously amazing week!

Recipe Reviews & Comments
Hey, when I went back to Germany for the first time after leaving (I was about 10), some of me relatives still had the outhouses.
This was in 1963. I think the war had ended about 3 weeks prior.
Thanks for the recipe. I looks so good, will have to try it next weekend.
Got laid off about 1 week ago, software dev. So, watch your six, and keep your resume updated.
Oh no Joe! I’m so sorry to hear you got laid off 🙁 *hugs*

Yes, I dream. I dream of losing weight. Do you want to know how much help you’re being, showing me pictures of apple strudel and Aunt Nettie’s Orange Nut Cake??? DO YOU???
Is that recipe for the quinoa, shrimp, asparagus, etc salad somewhere on the site?
I’m having trouble locating it.
Love quinoa. I have a really nice quinoa recipe that has peppers, potatoes, and cheese.
I’ll see if I can adapt it to your pressure cooker method. I have a pressure cooker (please sit down before continuing) that has NO BUTTONS, and does not use ELECTRICITY! You OK? It’s an old Presto, works great. And yes, we do have indoor plumbing here.
Amen to that brother! I dream of food and swear I gain in my sleep! LOL And um the cake has dairy, eggs and fruit in it so it’s kinda healthy…right? LOL
No the salad recipe isn’t on the site yet it’s really straight forward: 1/2 cup cooked quinoa, 5-8 cooked shrimp, 2 heaping cups of baby spinach, 1/4 cup roasted red pepper (sliced), 3 stalks of roasted asparagus (to roast it I just put it on a pan, drizzle with a little olive oil, pinch of salt and roast at 400F for 30-35 minutes depending on how firm you like it). That’s pretty much it. As for the dressing I went with a basic vinaigrette and touch of fresh black pepper.
BAHAHAHA hey I grew up in a town that one of my ‘neighbors’ didn’t have indoor plumping and had an outhouse you had to use. And they wonder why I refused to spend the night there! LOL
