Get out of that same ol’ recipe rut and try one of these delicious and easy recipes this week! This week I highly recommend making the Ultimate Pressure Cooker BBQ Coke Pulled Pork and the Caramel Infused Apple Cheddar Chicken Burgers!

Happy Sunday TKW Family! For those of you that are off and have a long 3-day weekend, I hope you’re enjoying it. For those of you that have to work, hopefully you’ll have a little down time. But most importantly, for those of you that fought for our freedom and defend all of us, THANK YOU! It is because of you we are safe and have the luxury, if we so wish, to relax while you selflessly put yourself in harm’s way. THANK YOU! You are loved and you are appreciated! YOU ARE THE TRUE HEROES!

I write to you guys today with very sore, blistered and calloused hands. I swear this yard/house whatever you want to call it is trying to off us. We’ve focused almost all of our free time into this house, trying to get it done to get it on the market this year. I quit setting goals as they just seem to come and go as the work just keeps piling up. Now, since the weather has finally broken we had to tackle the outside. We have 5 acres though only about 2 1/2 we cut as the rest is wooded. There are huge beds that need weeded and landscaped and the whole thing needs weed whacked. When we do it, it takes 1.5 hours to mow and an hour for him to weed whack. Now. Mr. Fantabulous is a beast when he does it as he practically runs. Yes, seriously. When he was 13 he started his own landscaping company. By the time he graduated college he had made enough money to pay for all 4 years of college in cash. This year, after much begging and pleading, he agreed to hire a company to do it.

So I took to a local facebook group saying what I was looking for and said “You will need a tractor and landscaping equipment.” I had a huge amount of “I’m interested!” responses but maybe 5 people showed up to give estimates. Many were like “Can you send me a pic?” Um no… you cannot assess what we want done. And it’s just rude/unprofessional. One asked “Can I use your equipment?” Wait what? You want to use my equipment AND get paid? Yeah… bite me buddy. For those that came out one said he would use 2 push mowers… yeah, not gonna happen. And the other 2 well, they want $800-$1000 a month just to cut the grass. Seriously – you sit on your butt to cut the grass and 4 hours a month to weed whack and you want a grand??? I’m not paying your mortgage! I won’t even go into the amount they wanted for putting down landscaping mesh and mulch.

Needless to say we’re doing it ourselves. What we might do is contact the one guy who brought his 17 year old son out with him and offer to pay the kid hourly to help us mulch. He was a nice kid who, when we spoke with, said he didn’t really have a lot of friends. He just “looked” like a hard worker and looked like he could use a few extra bucks.

But seriously, can you believe that?

So that is my, my dear TKW Family, I’ve been rather lean on the recipe and web postings. The past 3 days we have been outside picking up branches from the winter, cutting the grass twice (we have this commercial ‘sweeper’ that attaches to the tractor and sucks up the stuff as you mow, mulches it and then blows it into a 4×8 box trailer). We filled that trailer 14 times in 2 days just from the grass. Next came blowing out the leaves that fell. We got the majority of them last winter but there are always more that fall. That was TERRIBLE! We both used the blower with the leaf sucker upper thing and I think filled that trailer another 6 times. Right now, if you look at my poor, poor hands they look like a prize fighter after 8 rounds in the ring!

Today we also have to move out all of the furniture in 2 of the bedrooms AND take out the carpeting. We’re having carpeting installed in those rooms this week and then the other rooms the following week. I swear it has to end here one of these days, right? Anyways guys I need to get going and help him as today is not going to be an easy task. Have one amazing day and have a burger for me!
