The Universal Plus mixer by Bosch is the best mixer I’ve ever used. Kick off the holiday season early with a chance to win one!
*GIVEAWAY CLOSED*
I literally do not have enough adjectives to describe how amazing this mixer is y’all! As a Chef and Engineer, I have extremely high standards when it comes to the products, ingredients, and equipment I use let alone recommend.
In all of my years, I’ve never had a better home mixer than the Bosch Universal Plus mixer – EVER!
The Best Mixer EVER!
I first came upon this mixer about 3-4 years ago at a convention. I was truly amazed. This baby was light but super powerful. It has a ton of attachments you can add to it. You don’t have to stress your back moving it.
Plus, if you make more than one loaf of bread or dough at a time, you’re going to love this. It can make 12 pounds of dough at a single time! Seriously, that HUGE!!! Like it can hold up to 22 cups of flour! That’s insane!!!
The motor is underneath the bowl making it more balanced to carry, compact and LIGHTWEIGHT!
What’s Included
Whether you win this one or you buy one, it comes with the following:
- Sturdy 6.5 Quart Mixing Bowl
- Dough Hook – these are super sturdy and mimic the motions of hand kneading, stretching, tucking, and folding for maximum gluten development.
- Dual Wire Whips – these create a triple whipping action that allows you to whip as little as one egg into over a cup of meringue!
- Plastic Whip Driver
- Splash Ring
- Mixing Bowl Lid
- Base – I LOVE this it as it has 4 suction feet that grip the mixer to your counter for optimum stability.
Say farewell to that 30-pound mixer!
Now it’s not a dig to the other brand. I had one for decades but it was EXTREMELY heavy, cumbersome, and honestly, wasn’t powerful at all. If I went to make a batch of bread that had more than 5 cups of flour, it would grind, chug and stress the motor.
It got to the point that I wouldn’t use it for bread or doughs and just make it by hand. This massive hunk of metal sat in my kitchen cabinet until I absolutely needed it. And then, and only then, would I have my husband take it out and set it on the counter for me.
And then there’s the wobble or “mixer dance”. God, I hated that. You’d put your ingredients in and then if, it went up past 3 or higher it would ‘scoot around the counter’ from vibrating. You had to stand there with your hand on it, holding it so it didn’t fall off the counter. I’ve lost track of how many food bloggers this happened to. Ruining floors, breaking things, and causing a huge mess.

Hi Lori,
From one Pittsburgh gal to another, I felt the bond when I started reading your blog and collecting your recipes. If I were still living in Allison Park I’d wanna be your friend for sure, sharing our love of cooking and all regional things. (I miss the Steelers, the ethnicity, the Strip District, and all the great memories of growing up in the area. So while living in Charlotte, NC is nice, it ain’t the ‘burgh!) LOL
OK….onto the mixer. I’m an experienced cook; friends and family always want to come HERE to eat.
Damn. Sometimes I just want to sit down where someone else has made the yummy food. 😉
With that said, I’ve never mastered making dough of any sort and would love to start a pizza tradition for MY version of Mr. Fantabulous. He’s a great, great guy who always puts his family’s needs first. His idea of selfish is getting a Papa John’s pepperoni and pineapple on an occasional Friday night. So I’d like to win for HIM, and learn to get this dough thing down. Thanks, Lori! Wishing you continued success.

I love making dinner rolls in 49lb mixer, unfortunately since it is so heavy, I don’t use it often 😪 I am totally eyeing some of your bread recipes!!!

I’m not familiar with this at all! I do all mixing and kneading either with my little handheld or by hand. So neat! I’m eyeing up the hoagie rolls now – mixer or not! I’m drawn in by the word “chewy”. https://www.thekitchenwhisperer.net/2012/07/02/super-soft-n-chewy-hoagie-rolls/
