The Easiest Way Ever!

I had been craving jalapeño poppers pretty bad. So I picked up a dozen or so of gorgeous peppers at the market along with the rest of my ingredients (that recipe is coming up).

I’m that weirdo who doesn’t like jalapeno poppers that are sliced in half and stuffed that way. I like a full pepper. I went to Amazon and ordered a Coring Tool. Thanks to Prime, this arrived the same day. BONUS!

It took me mere minutes to core out and prepare to stuff. And get this: You can use this same coring tool to remove the cores of tomatoes and strawberries, too!

What To Use to Core Jalapeno Peppers

You only need 3 items to do this. An optional fourth would be a cutting board.

  • Jalapeño Peppers
  • Coring Tool
  • Paring Knife (mine is by Miracle Chef)
  • *optional cutting board, though highly recommended

If your skin is sensitive, I recommend that you also wear disposable food gloves.

Core The Jalapeño Peppers

This is so easy!

  1. Take a paring knife and slice off the top of the pepper.
  2. Take the coring tool and insert it along the inside edge of the pepper where the pith (flesh) is slightly pulled away from the outside shell.
  3. In a corkscrew manner, twist the coring tool around the inside of the jalapeño pepper, going down towards the tip. Depending on the size of the pepper you may need to pull some of the insides out, discard them, and then repeat until the whole inside of the pepper is cleaned out.

How To Store Cored Jalapeño Peppers

If you don’t stuff them right away after coring, just place them in a paper towel-lined container and cover it.

I actually recommend lining the bottom of the container, adding the peppers, and then adding another paper towel before placing the lid on.

What To Stuff Your Jalapeño Peppers With

Gosh, where do I begin? You’re really only limited by your imagination. Here are a few things I’ve stuffed them with:

  • Popper mix – stay tuned, my recipe is coming soon
  • Bacon Chicken Ranch Cream Cheese
  • Pulled Pork mixed with cheddar cream cheese, BBQ sauce, and BBQ seasonings

I’m always looking for ways to de-seed jalapenos. This seems to be a perfect way to do so without cutting them open!!! THANK YOU!

Great idea! I’ve ordered and am awaiting the coring tool, and will suffer the old style poppers tomorrow for Game Day.

I do like the button to keep the screen from blanking out, on my phone. I hadn’t seen that one before!

My pepper tip, you can drop some sliced peppers in a jar, add a tsp sugar and a tsp salt, and top with hot vinegar, and add a lid and refrigerate. Voila, pickled peppers for pizza or nachos! Keeps for two months at least!

Oh great tip! I’ll have to try them! Yeah the ‘cook mode’ on my recipe cards has been there ehhhhh a few months maybe? It’s a new feature they rolled out. I love it too.

You’ll love the corer! I use it also on tomatoes and strawberries too!

      Best Kitchen Wishes!
