Happy Sunday TKW Family! It’s time for another edition of my Weekly Menu to help you out in your quest to get out of that rut of the same ol’ same ol for dinner.  If you’re like me you get bored with the same foods week after week.

So how was your past week?  Mine was a blur to be honest – work, gym and this damn remodel. We’re making headway but when it’s just the two of us, it’s rough.  But somehow we manage and push through.  This past week we started to put the cabinets back in place and the stove – kinda.  It’s connected but sitting in the middle of my kitchen floor.  Today will be the first day I will use it in about 2 weeks.  So no more chopping, slicing, dicing or cooking food in my bedroom.  LOL  I was talking with one of the guys I work with and he was busting on me about pressure cooking in the bedroom. Let’s just say we’ve decided that’s how the phrase “Food Porn” originated.

4-17-16

Yesterday I spent 4 hours trying to peel back 2 decades of fugly contact paper layers.  Oh dear God people if you would have seen these layers.  Okay fine I get that in 1979 it was the in thing to have white contact paper with orange and brown mushrooms.  Then in 1983 to have country blue hearts but it’s 2016 and they are hideous.  And what makes it worse is trying to get this stuff off.  So I broke out the heat gun, pretty much melted the crap off but now comes the impossible job – removing the decades of adhesive.  I tried acetone, lacquer thinner, diesel, rubbing alcohol, teaspoon, wallpaper remover, fantastic, orange glo and thing.  My last resort is Goo-Gone and if that doesn’t work, I’m just covering it up with white.  White goes with everything.

Lastly I want to thank you all for being so patient and understanding with my ‘short’ posts and my not posting 4-5 recipes a week these past couple of weeks.  This house is consuming all of my time but I’m doing everything I can to keep this running and more importunate, inspire you with drool-worthy recipes, tips and tricks.  So thank you for sticking with me on this journey and not giving up on TKW.  I’m so blessed to have my TKW family.  Love you guys!
