Weekly Menu

Get out of that same ol’ recipe rut and try one of these delicious and easy recipes this week! This week I highly recommend making the Thanksgiving Gobbler Pizza and the Chunky Shrimp Burgers with Avocado Aioli sauce!

Happy Sunday and happy almost Thanksgiving TKW Family! So are you ready for turkey day? Have your menu planned?  Yeah, me neither! For those of you that are ready, want to come help me? So here’s the thing, even though Thanksgiving is only Mr. Fantabulous and I, I still go all out. Now granted I make things on a much smaller scale but regardless I still make a good bit of food. But I’m at least one up this time of year as I have my turkey already. Which reminds me I need to put it in the fridge to thaw and then brine it for 24 hours. Do you brine your turkey? OMG if not, you really should do it. The flavor is INCREDIBLE!

But that’s about all I have for Thanksgiving. I still haven’t made my cranberry relish. I haven’t made the rolls yet (seriously make THESE!). Heck, I don’t even have the bread for the stuffing or the potatoes!  I did, however, go to Walmart Saturday morning at 8am and OMG the place was a zoo! I mean you would have thought they were giving stuff away! I did get some stuff (like the cream cheese for his cheesecake and mushrooms for the green bean casserole stuffed mushrooms but that’s it. Please tell me I’m not the only one so far behind.

So today I have a TON of work to get done. Yesterday we had friends over which meant all of the TKW work I would get done on Saturday has to get done today leaving me only to worry about this post and the upcoming posts for the week, today. But today I have to try to cram and get everything done in one day. Oh yeah, and get to bed early as I have to head into the office tomorrow which means I’m up at 4am. Ugh… why can’t I be Oprah rich instead of so damn sexy? LOL

OMG so I was at work the other day and my one girlfriend asked if I was all done for Christmas. I just sat there, gave her the ‘are you smokin’ crack???’ look and said “Um no. Why? Are you?” Then she proceeded to tell me that she not only is done for Christmas, she’s fully decorated, presents are wrapped and cards are made out. OMG who does that??? Seriously? And more importantly how in the world can I get free time like that? Call me super jealous!

I haven’t even given a thought about Christmas. Heck, I’m lucky I know what I’m doing tomorrow let alone a month from now. Someday though… someday. I keep telling myself someday life will get easier and that I’ll have normalcy. A girl can dream, right?

So let’s see what happened on Instagram last week…

I found some Black Rice Pasta to try as pasta doesn’t always agree with my stomach. Though the picture looks like “worms” or “snakes” as many said, the flavor is AMAZING!  It’s no different in color than say squid in pasta. But this guys, was AMAZING!

Okay guys so one thing about me and marrying into an Italian family is Pasta is a requirement. That’s fine for them but often pasta makes me sick though I love it dearly. . Anyway I found this package by @bgreenfood for Black Rice Angel Hair Pasta and I tried it tonight with my meat sauce. . When cooked it has almost a purplish black hue but how’s it taste??? . Truth… I LOVED IT! It has the same feel of regular Angel Hair Pasta. To me it didn’t have a real strong taste. It was almost muted but you could taste the semblance of pasta. . I would buy again. Now Me. Fantabulous refused to try it as apparently that’s against the Italian guidelines. Something about if he ate it the “family” would be showing up at our door and whack him. . And I showed you my new talent for making homemade hockey pucks… I had a “SQUIRREL!” moment and totally forgot about my madeleines in the oven!

And then there were these last night for our guests to take home… Seriously INSANE! To make these, just use any fudgy brownie batter, then add sea salted caramel chips and frozen ganache balls (small) into the batter. Bake as normal then sprinkle with chocolate dots and flaky sea salt.

Anyway guys, I love you to pieces but I have bacon crisping up (making my Ultimate Cranberry Relish today but also a 2.0 version that may or may not include bacon), another attempt at my madeleines for a shoot, edit 2 sets of shoots and get all of my posts done for the week.
