Get out of that same ol’ recipe rut and try one of these delicious and easy recipes this week! This week I highly recommend making the Ziti Peperonata with Hot Sausage and the BBQ Beef Shortrib Pizza!
Happy Sunday TKW Family from a very busy house this morning. I swear I really need 9 days in a week. This past week has been crazy (more than my normal crazy!). We had 2 more rooms carpeted which meant we had to move all of the furniture out, remove the old carpeting, padding, 7,684, 581 staples in the floor where the padding was stapled down, sweep and then move it all back in. THEN (deep breath) we had to work on the formal living room and paint it. Well okay Mr. Fantabulous painted it all as the ceilings are 14′ high and you’re lucky you can get me to stand on a chair without panicking. I have vertigo and a fear of heights so yeah…not pretty. THEN we had to go to Lowe’s and Home Depot 4 times this week. Yes 4 friggen times… I swear I really should just get a job there considering I know half of the workers at the stores! haha
I still have to pack as I’m going on a press trip tomorrow for Red Star Yeast and Kansas Wheat, we have a graduation party later today and I still have to make food for Mr. Fantabulous for the week. Like I said, I need 9 days in a week. I’m trying not to freak out as I can’t find the luggage keys either. Since we moved our office downstairs and got all new desks I can’t find the keys (which I kept in my old desk). It’s funny because we’re so organized now yet I can’t find squat.
AND… to make matters worse I pulled a Mr. Fantabulous on Friday.
Just call me Grace…
Friday I was walking UP the stairs with a jar of my hot fudge as I wanted to make Mr. Fantabulous brownies when yours truly tripping going UP THE STAIRS! No, there wasn’t anything on the steps but apparently I trip over air. Oh it’s funny and you can laugh now but at the time, OMG I honestly thought I broke my arm. I fell hard and if you saw the 6″ bruise on my arm you’d have thought I was in the ring with Tyson! In a single fall I bruised my arm (really bad), my boob, my thigh and my toe (as I dropped the jar of fudge on it!). I was home by myself and was scared. Like I really did think I broke it. I sat on the steps (well okay laid on them more like it) and cried…hard. Hey I’m not embarrassed to admit it. That HURT bad. But it’s not broken (as she puts on her doctor hat) but it hurts to even have clothes touch it. So of course, like a moth to a flame Mr. Fantabulous goes “Does that hurt??” and touches it. I screamed (and cursed some VERY unladylike words) and immediately started to cry. I’m not a baby and I have a high pain tolerance but this… dear Jesus this hurts. Of course I made him feel terrible (not on purpose) but he’s right, when you see someone with a bruise you kinda want to touch it to somehow see if it hurts. Odd.
I’ll tell you what though guys, for the first time in my life I’m thankful I have some chub on this body as if I were skinny I would have most certainly broke my arm. Of course Mr. Fantabulous being Mr. Fantabulous asked if I dented the stairs. Jerk…
Press Trip
So yeah, as I said I’m flying out tomorrow for the week to head out to Wichita, Kansas with a few other fellow bloggers and my friends from Red Star Yeast and Kansas Wheat. I’ll have 4 glorious days in the golden wheat fields of Kansas learning all about wheat, how it’s harvested along with the ins and outs of wheat growing. I’ll also be in the kitchen with both Zoë François & Julene DeRouchey for an incredible day of baking. I’m so super excited about this. Plus we’ll be visiting and dining at many of the local eateries which is always a bonus for me. This girl loves food.
Make sure you follow my adventures on Instagram and Facebook. I’ll be posting many live videos and shots while I’m there!

Speaking of Instagram
Last week I was finally able to get back into the kitchen (mostly out of self-preservation as I must have had a tapeworm because I was starving! Once I return from the trip I’ll get back to my regularly scheduled postings which means lots of much overdue recipes!
This toast – seriously my new favorite avocado toast that I’m crushing on! It’s simple mashed avocado with sea salt and pepper then topped with thinly shaved radishes (which I just tried for the first time in my life and LOVE! Then a finish of microgreens. TYVM Giant Eagle for FINALLY selling these!!!)
Then, as I was digging through my freezer I found some of my Cowboy Chili. Since I was making burgers for lunch I opted for a Chili Cheeseburger. Now what’s not pictured is what I did after I took the photos. I topped that sucker with Fritos! Yep, right on the burger! AHHHHHmazing!
Then I became seriously obsessed with making Flatbread pizzas. I made 3 different ones in 2 days! Scroll these pics to see!
His – simple Margherita pizza
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Hers – Bbq Shaved Pork Tenderloin Raclette Pizza (mine was way better!)
In the warmer days I make fruits salads at least 3-4 times a week. He ate this ENTIRE bowl in 1 day!
And then there is this…
Oh Jameson Irish Whiskey how I love you. Jameson Irish Whiskey Brownies with Oreo filling, Salted Caramel drip and Dark Chocolate Whiskey Ganache. Don’t show your yoga pants this… ever!
And lastly this 3rd Flatbread pizza. Ham & Cheese Flatbread Pizza with Pittsburgh Slaw – told you I was addicted!
And with that guys I need to scoot! If my response to your emails or messages are slow this week it’s because I’m in the middle of a wheat field. I’ll get to you when I return. Make sure to follow along my adventures this week!
