Happy Sunday TKW Family! FINALLY the weather here broke and the photographer was able to come out and take all the shots of the houses and grounds for our listing! The past 2 weeks it’s done pretty much nothing but rain. All that’s left is him to edit the photos, us to approve the videos/drone footage and get it listed! *fingers crossed* One step closer to moving on to the next chapter in our lives!
I’ll be glad when it’s listed as, while we’ll still have little things here to take care of (maybe paint a door or basic weeding) I can get back to what I love.. .TKW! I have several hundred recipes I need to post and thousands of photos to edit. Not going to lie but these past 2 months when we pretty much kicked our own butts in gear were really, really rough managing a full time job, my company and this house.
I just realized that it’s August today and that our entire summer was spent on this house. Okay sure I had a few press trips but no down time or me or us. Hopefully we can relax even if it’s for a few days here on porchville. Yesterday was fun as the Fantabulous in-laws came up for the day. This was the first time they have seen our house completely done. The sense of pride we had as they walked in through our front doors was overwhelming. Seeing their faces light up in amazement over all the work we did truly meant the world to us. We’re hoping our prospective buyers have the same reaction.
Sterile
All I know is that once the photographer leaves today I’m putting my house back together. One of the things our realtors had us do was put every single thing away that we had on the counters (not that there was a lot) for the footage and photos. They wanted to give a clean slate for folks to see the spaciousness. Trust me, this house is not like your average home; it’s more than spacious but I get it. However I did tell her I’m not leaving it like this. I’m a chef and my knifes need to stay out on the counter same with a few spice containers I use mulitple times a day and my spoon rest.
I absolutely can’t stand how it looks right now. I mean I do but it’s just so sterile. It looks more like a house rather than a home, ya know? Those little things like a coffee maker or a set of knives make the home look lived in, warm and inviting.
So what’s next?
Good question. Sleep would be nice and another surgery for us. He has Trigger Finger pretty bad on his one hand (2 fingers) so he has to get that taken care of and I need to have my left thumb more than likely operated on. I went to pick up a really, REALLY heavy pan (one handed no less) and my thumb well.. it bent too far and then “popped” with a rubber-band type twang. Now I have this bone that is popped out and this indent that you kind of can’t touch. It’s usable but it hurts like a SOB. But for now I’m OK. Ibuprofen and ice helps. Plus he needs to get fixed first. Right now he can’t even play the guitar as his fingers lock.
