Happy Sunday TKW Family! I. Love. Fall! It’s so incredibly gorgeous here in Pittsburgh right now and even more especially on my property. The leaves are bright red, yellow and burnt orange. The sky is blue and little flecks of green grass are still porking up between the blanket of fallen leaves. It just makes you want to go outside, rake up a huge pile and then plop down in them.
But at my age, and the fact that I’m still recovering from surgery, I think I’d end up hurting something else! LOL
Let’s talk Fall
Not sure if many of you know this but we had to take our house off of the market for about 2 weeks while we found, yet again, another, realtor. I swear, I have very little faith left. How I WISH my dear friend that is an incredible realtor in Arizona could sell our house but sadly she can’t. But… I have to have faith that this new guy will do better. Maybe third time’s a charm…right? Perhaps he’ll be different as this is his full-time job and not a side job for extra money. *shrugs*
So amidst Mr. Fantabulous having surgery, yet again, on Monday, I had to get the house ready for a whole new photo and video shoot. Actually, the videographer guy is coming back today to shoot photos of the outside and do a drone video as the weather is gorgeous. Cold… but gorgeous.
That leads me to my question about fall. What are your thoughts on it? I ask because both my husband and the realtor were talking about the leaves on the ground and how summer shots look better. I said, “If the grass is still green, and you have various colored leaves on the ground, I think it’s kind of pretty still. There are leaves on the trees and the colors make it more ‘homey’.” I got looked at like I had 3 heads.
That black cloud above us…
You know that saying that goes ‘if it weren’t for bad luck, I’d have no luck at all’? I swear sometimes that’s us – or at least we have this little black cloud above us. So last February Mr. Fantabulous had shoulder surgery to repair a torn bicep tendon. Every post-op appointment he kept telling the doctor that it still hurt as bad. Fast forward to a month ago and a new doctor (his surgeon decided to up and close his practice and not tell anyone), we found out that 2/3rds of his Subscapularis (rotator cuff tendon) was torn off and had been for quite a while! Since I was still in a cast and only 2 months post-op the shoulder surgeon said he could wait 1 month for the surgery and no more.
So here we are – he’s in this shoulder sling for 6 weeks, I FINALLY, am out of the cast (though now in some type of compression glove. I get to start heavy rehab next week for at least 3-6 months.
But, even through the bad luck/black cloud/curses/whatever the universe throws at us … I still remain positive. Every day I get to wake up and spend with Mr. Fantabulous, do what I love and have a heart full of love and joy, I’ll always be blessed.
