Happy Sunday TKW Family! How are things in your world? Things here have been pretty good. No, I’m not yet from under quarantine but I do have some more energy back which means I was able to do a bit more in the kitchen. I’ve had some awesome creations (pumpkin lofthouse with pumpkin buttercream, butterscotch apples over french toast.. WHAT???, butternut maple cream soup with cinnamon sugar crunchies, linguini in a fra diavolo sauce and several more that you’ll be seeing on here). Then I turned my cottage cheese into pumpkin pie flavored cottage cheese. HOWEVER, while the taste was absolutely amazing (and so flipping healthy to boot) visually it was the most hideous looking thing EVER! No seriously it literally looked like a filled baby diaper if you get my drift. There is just no way possible to make this look appetizing. You just can’t pretty this dish up… at all!

Ah the sacrifices we make for a blog It’s hard doing this actually. Creating the recipes for me is the easy part. To me I just know what goes together but the rest of this stuff that goes into doing a blog it really is hard work. You have to take a million pictures, then you have to edit them, choose a few that you like enough to post and then you have to write about it. See for me I’ve never been one to just say “Hey here’s a pic, and a recipe, make this” well okay maybe when I get really, really, REALLY excited I’ve done that but that’s only because the dish is that amazing I pretty much want to jump into my car, come to your house and get you to make it like now! LOL

However the hardest part honestly, is this… the writing. Well wait, let me clarify. See I can talk to anyone about anything when it comes to food. I’m very social and outgoing but the key to having a blog that is successful is the content. The content behind the recipe. The personal touch is what MAKES the blog. Often I get asked “Lori, why do you share so much of your life with strangers, this virtual family?” I respond back simply with “Why not?”

For me this blog is about sharing, not only recipes and pictures but a part of me I suppose. My entire goal with this is to inspire, to share. To let people know that I’m just like them – I’m real, I have ups, I have downs, I melt stuff (not on purpose) in the kitchen, I have set my oven on fire (several times). I’m silly, serious, creative and well, just me. I’m just Lori. I treat this blog as if you were sitting with me at my kitchen table and we were kibitzing over some dessert and coffee/tea. Okay and yes, there would be bacon. It’s just a law in my house. #baconislove

So back to why writing is the hardest part. A good portion of what makes a blog successful is the content. People want stuff to read that is interesting. And there are weeks, that even I struggle with stuff to say though Mr. Fantabulous swears my mouth goes a mile a minute and I’m almost never at a loss for words. Right now though it’s particularly hard to write as well, nothing new and exciting is going on with my life. Although…. there are changes coming up *wink*

Right now I’m concentrating on Fall stuff – Mr. Fantabulous is hinting BIG TIME about us having our BooFest party year though I’m still on the fence about that. And with the Fall comes 900 bajillion leaves that will fall on our yard which is a royal PITA when you have to take care of them.

Oh so we’re on the last season of the Sopranos. I think we only have a few more episodes to watch so we’re looking for suggestions folks on series to walk. Our friends suggested Boardwalk Empire. Have you seen it?

Okay I’ve jibber jabbered on long enough. I’m calling it a lazy Sunday for us both. We just had lunch and once I post this I’m going to grab my fuzzy blanket and go snuggle up with my baby and finish watching the Sopranos.

Wishing you an awesome week!
