Happy Sunday TKW Family!  I’m 2 weeks post-op. If you’re reading this portion now it means I’m still not able to sit at the computer and type (one handed) these posts. I’m still recupperating from surgery. What I’ve done is write up a few posts before going out on surgery in case I still not recovered enough to post. Please forgive me but I didn’t want you guys to go with out a weekly menu.

Have an amazing week and hopefully by next Sunday I’ll be well enough to set at the computer and write up a real post instead of a pre-scheduled one.

Love you!

Happy Sunday TKW Family! This post is going to be quick as I’m recuperating from shoulder surgery right now and Mr. Fantabulous is in charge of all meals and making sure posts get published. I took the liberty of scheduling a few of these the first 2 weeks following my surgery as I know I won’t be able to type or pretty much function.

HOWEVER I’ll make sure he posts on Facebook my status and if I can sneak in some way to type to you guys I will however it’ll be all lefthanded and well it may be laden with typos.

If this surgery is anything like my last 2 rotator cuff surgeries I’ll be in a good bit of pain the next few weeks which means I may be slow in posting items. Just please be patient with me. I have a few items already written up and scheduled to post because I can’t leave you guys hanging for recipes.

2 days post-op now and Mr. Fantabulous is in charge!

Happy Sunday TKW Family! I have a million and 47 things I need to get done today and by Thursday. I’m having yet another shoulder surgery this upcoming Friday and to be honest, I’m rather scared about this one. So I’m going to be real with you all. I’ve had 8 major knee surgeries including a torn ACL and hamstring; I’ve had 2 hernia repairs, stomach surgery, skin removal surgery and 2 rotator cuff surgeries. Nothing, NOTHING compares to the pain I experienced like I did with the cuff surgeries. Now granted the first one the nerve block wore off in under 5 hours (found out the guy shot me in the wrong spot so that’s why it wore off). The 2nd cuff surgery, the nerve block lasted 26 hours because I told the Dr. to give me enough for an elephant. HOWEVER, once the block wore off I pretty much wanted to die from the pain. I, a girl that barely takes Tylenol due to being allergic to most stuff, dealt with the allergic reaction to the pain medicine just to bear it.

Now if this upcoming surgery was just another rotator cuff surgery I’d at least be prepared. But it’s not. You see I also tore my bicep tendon lengthways and they have to essentially cut the tendon off, repair it with duct tape or some magic and then screw it back to my bone. Lovely huh?  Mr. Fantabulous had that done about 2 years ago and for a month he was in sheer agony – even with the pain meds. The doc already said “Lori, I’m not going to bs you, this will hurt; this will hurt bad. You’re going to have to take the pain medicine no matter what.”

Lovely… But hopefully this will fix me finally and in a year when it’s all healed I’ll be good as new or rather I’ll be bionic. lol

So what does that mean for TKW and the website? Nothing really.

I really need 8 days in my week!

Happy Sunday TKW Family! Raise your hand if you’re enjoying a long 3-day weekend. ME ME ME!!!  However, this weekend has been anything but relaxing for me. With my having surgery in 2 weeks and will be down for at least 2 months, I need to get a boatload of recipes done and posted (scheduled) while I have my arm bound to my body. The last 2 shoulder surgeries it wasn’t that big of a deal with regards to typing up the recipe as I’m right-handed and the surgeries were on my left shoulder. But this surgery is on my right one and I can’t do squat with my left hand.

Like we’re talking I can’t even brush my teeth with my left hand without jabbing my cheek and getting toothpaste all over my face. God help me when I have to go to the bathroom!  LOL Oh no wait, Mr. Fantabulous said he has that already covered. He said he’ll just hook up the garden hose and hose me down. Yeah… the man says he loves me too. LOL

But I know that if I really needed him to do that he’d do it for me. Marriage – to love, honor, cherish and wipe the other’s behind when they can’t. HAHAHA

Memorial Day isn’t about the food, it’s about freedom. Thank a Vet!

Happy Sunday and Happy Birthday to me (and to all of my birthday twins out there!)!!!  How was your week?  Mine wasn’t too bad, just long. It just felt like the week would never end. At work, I received some really amazing praise and acknowledgments for all of the work I do and how everything I did for that one massive project I was one was crucial. It’s funny as I’m not one of those workers that looks for praise or stands up and says “Hey look at what I just did.” I’m there to do a job and getting a paycheck is enough. Thing is, I love what I do and it shows. But every now and then, when you’re going those extra miles, burning the midnight oil months on end and giving everything you have to make sure a project is a success it’s nice to be praised and honestly, thanked.

Last week was also a super busy week here in the TKW Test Kitchen. As you saw I posted 3 new recipes:

Buckeye Ice Cream Peanut Butter Cake Bomb
Peach BBQ Pork Bite Crostini
Caramel Infused Apple Cheddar Chicken Burgers

Now those 3 recipes, I’m telling you what guys, they NEED to make an appearance at your upcoming Memorial Day cookouts. Those Peach BBQ Pork Crostinis are insane!  Like I could eat just an entire plate of those as a meal. Then that burger. Oh, Dear Sweet Baby Jesus people! If you do not make this burger you’re committing a crime. It’s literally one of the best burgers I have ever had in my entire life. And that dessert…fahgeddaboutit. I did my Mom proud with that recipe. And if you think about it, when you make all 3 you literally made an entire meal – appetizer, main course, and dessert. You need nothing else!  Well okay, maybe some cool drinks.

This upcoming week I have lots to get done. With Goetz’s Candy Company being one of my newest clients I have more recipes I want to create for them using their amazing products. Plus I have some other client recipes as well as stuff I just want to share. This is the time when I really, REALLY need an assistant (locally I’m afraid) to help me start with video shooting and editing. But for now, I’m managing. I got this!

Spending the day doing ‘me’ stuff!
